The Pinnacle & The Inner Circle will continue to clash until one group is in the ground. Last time they clashed, it was Jake Hager of Inner Circle who was able to choke out Wardlow in an MMA Rules Cage fight, but this week is something special. Sammy Guevara has wanted to get his hands on MJF ever since he snuck his way into the Inner Circle, and tonight he gets the chance one on one in the main event of Dynamite.
The Starts Of An Epic
After MJF started off by endearing himself to the crowd, saying he misses the pandemic keeping them away, this one would get started. MJF fled the ring early on, before getting in and dropping Guevara with a shoulder tackle. They’d run the ropes and show some fundamentals with leap frogs, MJF showing some speed.
Guevera would look for the finish early with the GTH before MJF went for Salt of The Earth. They’d both have counters for these holds, and went for some roll ups. MJF would sneak an eye poke in before being taken down. Guevara couldn’t get a 630 senton, but managed a springboard cutter for a two count.
MJF would send Guevara to the outside, and used the high ground to maintain the advantage. A back suplex dropped Guevara, before stomping away on the limbs of Guevara. Guevara fired up with some chops, before being yanked to the mat by his hair, and having his fingers bitten by MJF.
Sammy Guevara Takes Major Blow After Major Blow
MJF would be sent to the outside, and Guevara would try to catch him with a baseball slide, only to be caught in the ring apron, Fit Finlay Style. Some quick strikes would bludgeon Guevara, but MJF would be the one who ended up getting thrown back into the ring. Guevara tried to land a springboard dropkick, but was caught with a Liger Bomb out of the sky for a two count.
MJF would try to set up a superplex in the corner, but was taken down with a Spanish Fly instead for a two count from Guevara. As the match goes, the speed of MJF is down but Guevara hasn’t stopped moving. He’d take Guevara out with a lariat over the top rope, skin the cat to re-enter the ring, and hit a dive. MJF was thrown back in and took a springboard destroyer for a near fall.
Getting frustrated, MJF would leave the ring and grab a chair, and take a dropkick through the ropes, chair meeting his face. MJF stumbled into the crowd, Guevara would launch himself from the top rope, over the barricade right onto MJF. Back in the ring, MJF would block the 630 senton by rushing the ropes, and hit a Tombstone Piledriver from the second rope. Due to MJF hurting the knee and getting a sloppy cover, this was only a two count.
The Pinnacle Crash The Main Event
MJF was having trouble standing up, and Guevara would lure him into an inside cradle for a two count. Guevara would be cut down by MJF, and he’d roll to the apron. MJF looked for the Heatseeker, but MJF was sent flying onto his knees. Guevara went for a sunset flip, and MJF countered into a pinfall and grabbed the ropes, only to have his arms caught by the legs for a pinfall.
The GTH would land on MJF, but an overzealous pinfall from Guevara saw the leg of MF get onto the ropes at two. MJF was still down and would beg off as Guevara went up top for the 630. Having seen enough, Shawn Spears would come to ring.
Jericho tried to make the save but was ambushed by Wardlow who threw him off the stage. Spears used this chance to hit Guevara with a chair, and MJF crawled into the pin. An amazing match, but a tainted win in the end.
This match will eventually main event an AEW PPV when one of these men is AEW Champion. They would take each other to their limits, and have a match worthy of ending the AEW pandemic run at Dailys Place. The dirty finish sucks to see, but keeps this match for another go down the line, and pushed the IC vs. Pinnacle feud forward again. Match Rating: 4.25/5 (**** 1/4)
