When WWE made their latest batch release, everyone was genuinely shocked to see the name of Braun Strowman among the names let go. The Monster Among Men was one of WWE’s best homegrown talents, having recruited him from strongman competitions and turning him into a world champion.
Even his final match in WWE was for the WWE Championship, leaving Strowman in a rare category of names released by WWE on the top of their game. However, it seems like Strowman is ready to embrace his newfound freedom, and move onto the next chapter of his career.
Braun Strowman Has Taken The High Road On Social Media Following His Release
Despite fans being mad for him, Strowman & WWE have seemed to split on good terms. His first tweet after leaving simply said “What a chapter in life. Thank you!!!!!”, doing well to not potentially burn a bridge, but not giving fans any hint on what was next. This led many to believe that perhaps he was set to take some time off and rejoin WWE.
However, his latest tweet seems to indicate that he is ready to enjoy being a free agent. It was simply the opening lyrics from the hit song from Lynyrd Skynyrd 1973 debut album, Free Bird. “If I leave here tomorrow, Would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on now ‘Cause there’s too many places I’ve got to see!!!!”
This alongside a picture from his time in WWE indicates that he’s not just excited about potentially seeing Lynyrd Skynyrd live on a potential upcoming show. But rather, he’s got a lot of ground to cover in the world of wrestling, and everyone is interested.
Billy Corgan Has Expressed Interest In Strowman In The NWA
One promoter who has been instantly vocal about wanting Braun Strowman on his roster is Billy Corgan, owner of the National Wrestling Alliance. Strowman fits their throwback southern wrasslin’ aesthetic, and would be a very newsworthy name to have carrying the Ten Pounds of Gold.
““Braun Strowman,” Corgan said with a laugh during a recent interview on Busted Open Radio. “If he was green in NXT, I’d be jumping all over it. There aren’t a lot of big guys that have that little of ability. So you think ‘how do you let a guy like that out the door?’ I don’t mean to be critical, I’m not making the business decisions. But I don’t know how you let a guy like that out the door.”
