The impressive UFC Vegas 28 will feature Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Augusto Sakai in the main event. As such, two of the company’s top heavyweights will deliver one of the best fights of the year. Both are the ones getting all the attention in the main event, which will take place this Saturday at the Apex in Nevada. However, either one of them could take the win.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik (11-2) is in a tough spot in his career, having been defeated in two of his last three fights. After winning the first ten of his life as a professional fighter, he is looking to get back on that track. However, Augusto Sakai (15-2-1) is coming off a loss to Alistair Overeem in September 2020, and will also be going all out.
Clash of the Weekend: Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Augusto Sakai sparked by each other
As a result, Sakai commented, “I’m very happy. Another main event, and it shows how much UFC is watching me. I was undefeated in UFC and I hate losing, so I hate that loss. The feeling was so bad that I don’t want to try that anymore. I think the biggest change was inside my head. I knew I had to evolve and get better to achieve my dreams, so it affected my training and everything.”
“I feel so much better now. He has power, but I have knockout power too. I proved it in UFC and I didn’t make any big plans or changes. I’m planning to make my own game and beat him. Right now, my focus is 100 percent on Jairzinho. I want a great performance, a great fight on Saturday night, and I will think about the future after the Jairzinho fight. But I want fights against one of the top five”, closed Augusto.
On the other hand, Jairzinho Rozenstruik also spoke, making clear what he is looking for: “They were crazy and strange. But this is an opportunity to improve. I’m happy to be here and to have this quick turnaround. I have to be the first one to pitch for this fight. It doesn’t matter what’s going to happen or how it’s going to happen. I’m going to be the first one to push back. This fight is going to be exciting.”
