The talk of the wrestling world last week was the debut of Malakai Black in AEW. He would show up unexpected just 30 days out from his WWE release, and dropped both Arn Anderson & Cody Rhodes with a set of deadly Black Mass kicks. This week, Cody Rhodes wants answers from a man he thought he knew.
Cody Rhodes & Malakai Black Brawl It Out
Rhodes hijacked the show following the match between Cage & Starks, and simply wanted to know what would drive a man like Black to kick a 62 year old man like Arn Anderson. Black would appear on the screen and tell a story of a man who had to put a prize winning race horse down, but Rhodes wouldn’t let him finish and wanted him in the ring.
The lights would go out, and Black appeared in the ring behind Rhodes to a huge ovation from the capacity crowd. Rhodes wouldn’t be knocked out by Black Mass, and instead a brawl would ensue with security struggling to separate these two rivals. This feud is just getting started, and is only going up from here.
Hangman Page Is Ready To Dethrone Kenny Omega
Last week was a major moment for Hangman Page. He finally was able to stand up to Kenny Omega, This came after Evil Uno once again stoked the fires and confronted Omega on his behalf, only to be taken down. Page evened the odds, and had a clean shot to take Omega down with the Buckshot Lariat… but didn’t. Tonight, we will hear from Page and hopefully get an idea of what is next for him.
A huge response from the crowd for Page as he made his way to the ring showed they wanted him as their champion. He’s come so close to becoming AEW World Champion once, but it slipped through his fingertips. After spending months hiding from that belt, now he wants to claim the gold.
Don Callis and the rest of the Elite besides Omega would interrupt him, with Nick Jackson being the only one bold enough to get in Page’s face. He’d say that Page abandoned The Elite for a bunch of losers in Dark Order, before implying Page is simply a drunk. There is only Page to blame for his issues, and would call him the next great wrestling tragedy. Page would lay him out, but Omega slipped into the ring for a cheap shot before The Elite made the save.
Page wouldn’t be leaving without a match set, but Omega has a better idea. Dark Order vs. The Elite, 5 vs. 5 elimination style. If Page & Dark Order win, they get title shots. But if The Elite win, they’re out of the rankings.
