Throughout the pandemic, many wrestlers did their best to get noticed whenever possible. Fans had a lot of downtime, and getting in front of as many as possible could only help someone down the line. This was the case with Danny Limelight, who was featured heavily on both NJPW Strong & AEW. Limelight even got onto AEW Dynamite and got to square up with some of the best in AEW with Jon Moxley & Kenny Omega. However, he won’t be sticking around in AEW, as Limelight has found a potentially amazing role in Major League Wrestling.
Danny Limelight Is Now Riviera In MLW Following Debut For Promotion
This past weekend saw a major MLW show taped in Battle Riot III, which will air later this month around July 24th. There were a large amount of matches, but one of the biggest stories coming from this show involves wrestling legend Konnan. Limelight was seen there alongside 25 year old Slice Boogie, and Julius Smokes as part of the latest iteration of Latin American Exchange, better known simply as L.A.X.
This name has mostly been used in Impact Wrestling, having seen two different iterations. The first was Homicide & Hernandez, who later returned as the OGs in 2018. Fans of AEW will be familiar with the second iteration of the ground, with the main members being Santana & Ortiz, now of The Inner Circle. They were a change of pace for the faction, and brought a new life to the name.
L.A.X Has Never Been A Let Down
Now, we have a new iteration with Limelight and Boogie. Boogie is a bit of an unknown name, but Konnan has an amazing eye for talent. Limelight alone could carry most matches if needed, having been well proven over the past year. Boogie has had some time in the NWA this past year, also infrequently showing up in Game Changer Wrestling.
MLW is a solid home for a talent like him, and working with a promising prospect like Limelight will help to get him some extra attention. Konnan wouldn’t ruin the L.A.X name after over a decade of being a trusted name, and we will have to see how things go in MLW. Reports have indicated that this deal will not affect Limelight’s work with NJPW, but could make AEW tricky.
