Hit Row is on their way to the top of NXT, with Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott already claiming the NXT North American Championship. However, one team who doesn’t appreciate their style is Imperium. The tough as nails grapplers don’t like anyone making a joke of the wrestling ring, and that is how they view the actions of Hit Row.
Tonight, Fabian Aichner & Marcel Bartel take on Ashante Adonis & Top Dolla, and might learn they aren’t a joke in the ring. Some inspiration came for Imperium with WALTER on his way back to the United States to defend his championship, making sure they will be on their best behaviour.
Hit Row Look To Claim Their Biggest Win Yet
Adonis would start with Bartel, and instantly end up in a headlock. Bartel would be outwrestled by the upstart Adonis who nailed the Air Drop early, before being beaten down with a heavy chop and fast back slam. Aichner tagged in and nailed a perfect armdrag, before pulling Adonis onto his shoulders.
Adonis slipped out and fit a neckbreaker for a two count, before Aichner would block an irish whip, catch a boot and nail a heavy lariat to rock Adonis. Top Dolla tagged in and showed Aichner what power is, and when Adonis slipped out he took a jumping high knee. Aichner was held up high, and Adonis nailed him with a dropkick to drop him for a two count.
Imperium Takes Advantage Of Legado Del Fantasma Attacking Hit Row
Aichner would tag out to Bartel, who would take a big spinebuster for a two count. Hit Row would lose control, as the former NXT Tag Team Champions found their rhythm for a combo dropkick. They’d set up the European Bomb but Adonis was able to counter out. Bartel grabbed an ankle lock to pull Adonis back to the corner, where Aichner maintained control before Bartel would grind him down.
Top Dolla was desperate for the tag, and Adonis could send Bartel to the outside before he’d burst in to try to save this. The tag was still received, and Top Dolla would take control with a side slam and big jumping elbow drop, with Bartel breaking the cover up.
Adonis nailed a flapjack, as Legado Del Fantasma attacked Hit Row at ringside and distracted Top Dolla. Back in the ring, Imperium claimed the win, as LDF beat down Top Dolla, before Swerve made the save.
A fast paced tag team match, which really showed how resilient Adonis can be. Hit Row is a solid tag team already, but Imperium was able to take advantage of a distraction like former champions should. Match Rating: 2.5/5 (** 1/2)
