With Money in the Bank pay-per-view just over a week away, there are still some spots to fill in the MITB Ladder Match and WWE Smackdown Preview expects them to be great matches tonight.
There’s also the issue with Edge hanging around and beating the stuffing out of Jimmy Uso last week.
While we don’t expect to see Jimmy tonight following his DUI arrest (we hope he’s able to get the help he needs), it’ll be worked into the storyline that Edge injured him, and with Jey Uso MIA it’ll fall to Roman Reigns.
Storyline wise, this is what’s expected to happen when a tyrant starts to have his army taken away from him, and we expect Reigns to pull something out of his hat after taking last week off.
What does the Tribal Chief have planned? We’ll have to wait and see.
Money in the Bank Qualifying Match – Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins
Nothing like being thrown into a qualifying match to reinvigorate a rivalry, but this one feels like it’s not going to end well.
The match, we mean. While this has the potential to be the match of the night, we can’t shake the feeling it’s going to end with some kind of messed up way and there will be a rematch next week.
We’ve already seen that once. Or maybe make it a triple threat Last Chance match with the loser of Kingsuke Nakamura and Baron Corbin?
Money in the Bank Qualifying Match- King Corbin vs. Kingsuke Nakamura
With Baron Corbin’s life in tatters at the moment, he’ll have a chance to right the ship against Shinsuke, rather, Kingsuke Nakamura with a win tonight to get into the MITB Ladder Match.
Unfortunately for Corbin, we don’t see that happening as long as Rick Boogs is with Nakamura and ready to distract Corbin at a moment’s notice.
Oddly enough, since everyone from the Mysterios to Nakamura have shown they need outside help to beat Corbin in heel-like fashion, it’s become hard to boo him.
This could be the plan for a potential face turn in the coming weeks since they’ve broken him down in just about every way possible.
We love both Nakamura and Corbin and are confident they’ll put on a great match.
We’re also good with either one winning both matches as we can’t really lose, but if we’re playing favorite, we’d prefer Cesaro and Corbin to win.
