On WWE Raw a fan ran out and tackled Seth Rollins. Rollins held on with a head lock to keep things from escalating and security got there quickly.
The why and how behind the fan’s attack are still open for investigation though it appears the most popular theory is the fan was catfished and scammed by a fake Seth Rollins account two years ago.
Terrifying experience
TMZ caught up with Rollins when he arrived in Los Angeles the following day and asked him various questions about the incident.
Rollins responded well, sounding calm and relaxed and not vindictive toward the individual.
“It’s terrifying, brother. It happened very quickly.
“I was mostly just reacting and hoping that our security would come and do their job. Which they did very quickly. And then was just trying to detach and move on. Hope that everybody is okay.
“Once the tackle happened I knew what was going on. The guy was barreling around the corner.
“No, no serious injuries. Nothing like that. I was safe, we were safe. Everything was okay.
“I think as a precedence he probably should not be allowed at the events.”

Backup waiting in the wings
There was more than just security ready to come to Rollins’ aid as some fans blew up the image of two people standing at the entrance to the ramp and it looks like they were Becky Lynch and Adam Pearce.
It makes sense for Lynch to be there as they’re a couple, but it’s been something wrestlers have done before when someone’s been attacked.
This situation showed exactly what not to do as a fan and we’re grateful that no one was seriously hurt.
It also brought to mind some stories of fans attacking wrestlers and regretting it. One came from Jim Cornette when he talked on his podcast about a time a fan attacked Roddy Piper while he was heading to the ring.
Piper slipped free and was on the guy’s back and pummeled him, and left him twitching before heading to the ring.
Cornette even said he and the rest were taught early on to go for the groin and how to pop out eyes with their thumbs.
In the end, we never know how these instances will go, and it’s better to sit back and enjoy the show and not attack anyone trying to entertain us.
