More from Josh Duggar behind bars. On Thursday, March 3, the former reality star and convicted sex offender turned 34.
Josh Duggar Turns 34 A Month Before His Sentencing on Child Pornography Charges
Duggar is currently incarcerated at the Washington County Detention Center. While awaiting his court appearance for sentencing, he has managed to stay in contact with his wife Anna. In speaking with Fox News, a family friend noted that the former car dealership manager “has children, a wife, a family, and he doesn’t get to see them, so his birthday is going to be tough.”
That same family friend also said that what would be harder than having to celebrate his birthday in the clink was missing those moments with his children. Josh Duggar was arrested in April 2021 when images of underage girls were found in his work computer. During the trial, his defense claimed that the content was put on their client’s computer remotely.
Obviously, that defense wasn’t going to work when facing a federal cyber forensics team that had literal receipts—activity logs—from the computer. Not only that, but the prosecution has the content found on the computer.
Duggar was convicted of possessing child pornography in December 2021. On Saturday, January 22, Duggar’s legal team filed for an acquittal.
Unless his defense team found something else that wasn’t presented or discovered some misconduct on the part of investigators or the prosecution, it’s not an uphill battle for Duggar’s freedom—it’s an up-mountain battle…in reverse. Josh Duggar is scheduled to receive his sentence on Tuesday, April 5. The 34-year-old could face up to 20 years and a $250,000 fine for both counts.
