It is as if people can’t wait to spread new rumors and untrue stories on the internet. Since the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard started these two are a constant target of tabloids and newsletters. Among the stories, there are many that are simply untrue.
Most recently, a rumor is spread that Johnny Depp is in talks to resume his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in a reprise of the movie franchise. And this gains much traffic. It is one of the most successful roles of the actor and an iconic one by which he is widely recognized throughout the world.
Johnny Depp Refuses To Star As Captain Jack Sparrow After Winning Defamation Trial – Would Not Do It Even For $300 Million And Million Alpacas
However, a spokesperson of the actor is fast to end these rumors by denying that Johnny Depp is in any negotiations to be in the next movie. Furthermore, he refuses to even think about getting back together with Disney after what they did to him.
In cross-examination at the trial Johnny got the question – “If Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film, correct?”
To which he responds a short answer – “That is true.”
Allegedly the Pirates of the Caribbean legend, Depp, was about to sign a $301 million deal with Disney to appear in the Pirates six. The number of 301 million indeed seemed like something that Johnny might accept after the trial. Who knows, maybe he refused it because they did not offer him a million alpacas with it.
This rumor starts after the publishing of an article on the Australian site Poptopic, taking into consideration Depp’s testimony from the trial where he puts a price on his starring in the next Pirates movie.
However, these rumors are with short-life. They are immediately denied by Depp’s team. As the actor says during the defamation trial – he feels the betrayal. He won’t return to the franchise due to pure pride hurt. He brings Captain Sparrow to Disney, he works with them for about 20 years and they were in such a rush to let him go. It is as if they did not know him at all despite working with him for 20 years.
Johnny Depp is about to receive $10 million in damages from his ex-wife Amber Heard. But is it enough? How much money did Johnny lose by breaking his contract with Disney? Furthermore, how many other roles did he miss due to his label as an abuser and aggressor? In the end, he won the trial and he left Disney without one of its most recognizable and iconic characters. But did he have a fair trial?
What do you think? Are $10 million enough?
