Since the company was formed in 2019, fans have wanted to see the AEW Women’s division grow into something incredible. Major signings like Toni Storm, Athena, Mercedes Martinez, and more would be great – while the likes of Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida & Thunder Rosa rising up to become something special. Now with the likes of Sasha Banks & Paige from WWE potentially on their way to AEW – reigning AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa would gladly take Paige in AEW.
Thunder Rosa Is Open To Any Challenge, Including Paige
During a recent interview with TV Insider, Thunder Rosa would be asked about the chance of Paige coming to AEW. Rosa would have the following to say about the chance of Paige becoming All Elite.
“She has so much experience. She has been wrestling since a young girl. I met her mother a few years ago at an independent show, she is a wrestler’s wrestler. She would bring something different to the women’s division as a wrestler or even if we needed a general manager. If she came to our door, I think everybody will benefit from it. If anyone comes to wrestle me. I’m open to any challenge. Whoever wants a piece of me, you know where to find me. If not, I’ll send you my number right now.”
Paige has not wrestled since 2017, when she suffered an injury during a house show. Despite this, she’s been fighting to get cleared to return to the ring – with plans to wrestle once free of her WWE contract.
Addressing Tonight’s Challenger
Tonight, Thunder Rosa will defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against Toni Storm as part of the Forbidden Door PPV. This will be her fourth title defence as champion, having previously defeated Nyla Rose, Serena Deeb, and Marina Shafir. In regards to the challenge of Storm – Rosa had the following to say.
“Fans can expect a really cool match. We’ve never wrestled with each other before. This is going to be very vibrant and different. We are the only women’s match on the card. We are going to show up and show out.”
