Natasha Lyonne has revealed that she is no longer together with Fred Armisen.
Natasha Lyonne Broke Up With Fred Armisen Over A Swimming Pool
The pair were rumored to be connected to each other for some time. In 2014, the speculation first started to emerge after they were at a party at the Sunset Tower Hotel’s Tower Bar.
And since that moment, their paths crossed once again. In 2019, they were formally introduced to each other via Fred’s colleague Maya Rudolph. And soon after, they began to live with each other in Los Angeles.
But that honeymoon period has now ended, and yet, it was for the most bizarre reason. In an interview, Natasha opened up on why she decided to walk away.
She said: “We broke up because I wanted a swimming pool. We love each other just about as much as two people can love each other and we’re still talking all the time, but Freddy doesn’t like a swimming pool.”
It is not clear whether Natasha’s comments are being made in jest, especially since this would be the last thing people would expect to hear as a reason for breaking up.
However, outside of an alternative explanation to the contrary, we must give her the benefit of the doubt. She expanded upon how her love for swimming ultimately came at the expense of Fred, who by all accounts, could not stand the sight of it.
Natasha added: “It might seem like a mundane reason for a breakup, but during that pandemic, you’ve got to get your laps — I’m like Burt Lancaster in ‘The Swimmer. So that’s the real scandal.”
The fans on social media were not convinced. A significant proportion of people were of the view that she had simply chosen to not disclose the real reason.
One person wrote: “Fred Armisen chose not having a swimming pool over Natasha Lyonne? please.” Regardless of what the reason may be, it is safe to say that the pair have different priorities within their lives.
