According to reports, Rio had been battling cancer for some time. This started to have an impact on his eyesight to a large degree. And given that it was a very rare form, the best medical care in the world was not possible to save him.
And now that he is no longer here, fans cannot help but mourn the loss. While it is true to say that his mother is a bigger name, few can deny the success that Rio has had in his own right.
He has appeared in various projects such as “Fred Claus,” and in “Pam & Tommy.” With that being said, Helen was devastated by the news. In a post to her fans, she said: “Rio died of uveal melanoma, a very aggressive and rare form of cancer.
“His life showed us how to live in generosity and community. He shared his life’s journey with so many who now mourn him.” But it was not just Helen who had kind words to say about him.
It seems that Rio also left his mark on the acting industry too. Rob Tunney, who is best known for being the star of the Mentalist, had gotten to know Rio and followed his work over the years.
And it was his tendency to have time for others, irrespective of what may have been going on in his life, was something that stood out for Rob.
In a statement in response, Rob stated: “He was too nice to be that handsome. Too cool to be that relatable. My Gosh that man was special. RIP Rio.”
The response on social media was much the same. People came out in droves in order to pay their condolences and be there for Helen in what was clearly a very hard time. One person wrote: “Hope you get through this.”
