Impact Wrestling Results and Recap joined after the commercial as Rich Swann made his first appearance since Slammiversay to make an announcement.

He made his way down the ramp and to the ring on crutches and with his right foot in a protective boot.

He gave a recap of his life: “With hard work and dedication and heart, love and support, I was able to become a professional wrestler. I was able to look at those naysayers, those doubters, and live my dream.”

He continued to explain the injuries he suffered from torn tendons and broken bones and how the doctor said he could have a limp for the rest of his life.

He worked as hard as he could to prove that doctor wrong, and after months he got the itch and could feel himself healing.

Never give up

He then went back to that doctor, who then admitted he was wrong and said he was ready to go. The doctor was amazed at what he’d accomplished.

Swann added that he saw there was an open spot for the Impact World Championship, and he was ready to claim that spot.

As soon as he got the okay to go, he was put into the main event at Slammiversary.

He said he thought he’d continue on after he pinned Eric Young, but Young got jealous.

He added that the last seven months came back as Young stomped on the chair repeatedly.

He said he’s back to square one, and the doctor told him that it was a little different this time.

The doctor told him if he were to get back in the ring, his life could change. That he wouldn’t have a normal life if he continued to put his body through what he was doing.

He said he had to think about his family and future, and he announced his retirement.

He thanked everyone that supported him, and all the boys and girls in the back that come out to the ring every week and bust their backsides to make the company what it is.

He thanked the production team and commentators, and said he hopes he made a lasting impact in the industry.

Snake in the locker room

Willie Mack and Eddie Edwards led the locker room out to show their support for what Rich Swann has done in his career.

They circled the ring and pounded on the ring in support of him. They then applauded him, and helped him through the ropes.

Rich Swann then climbed the ramp as everyone clapped behind him. Eric young came out of owehre and leveled Swann, then hit him with his crutched.

Most of the locker room took off after Young while Mack and Edwards remained.

A pretty solid show with a not so surprising but still heart wrenching attack at the end. What do you all think of it? Who will stop Eric Young?
