This rivalry took us by surprise last week when they had a brief dustup on WWE Raw, and we expect much the same.
Given Jax’s size and strength, she’s the perfect opponent for Shayna Baszler as she’s one of the dominate women in the division. She just can’t win the championship.
In many ways, this feels like a wasted feud.
Who gets the push?
Baszler should be the Raw Women’s Champion, but rumors claim she’s not one of Vince McMahon’s favorites.
That may be true, or it may not be. What is true is Baszler seems stuck in neutral for whatever reason, and Nia Jax if probably supposed to fix that.
Or it could be vice versa.
This could be viewed as the next big feud in the WWE since both are portrayed as unstoppable, yet they get stopped.
Yeah, we’re kinda cynical of this pairing for various reasons. The biggest came be summed up in one word: why?
Jax has shown flashes of ability, and since injuring Kairi Sane again, she appears to be more careful where and how she tosses someone.
Of course, how long this will last is anyone’s guess. But it’s important to note she has been trying to be a better in ring performer.
On the flip side, Shayna Baszler is as tough as they come, and she could theoretically be in the “shooter” role here to help keep Jax in line.
As mentioned above, Baszler should be the women’s champion, and Beck Lynch even said she abdicated losing to her at WrestleMania 36 but that idea was denied.
So, here we are and we fully expect this feud to be billed as two monsters facing off come SummerSlam.
Should be a good one
All cynicism aside, this has the potential to be a really fun feud.
Jax and Baszler compliment each other in different ways, as Jax will be the monster Baszler must defeat, and Jax must win to prove she is a monster.
It’s a cool dynamic that will be a slow build over the next couple of weeks.
We really hope they’re allowed to do something more than a double count out like on last week’s WWE Raw and a disqualification when/if they face off tonight, but we doubt it.
There won’t be a real finish to their match until SummerSlam, so we’re going to see a lot of brawling and laying each other out.
In fact, if they make it to the ring tonight we’ll considered that a surprise development as this feud seems more fitting to a backstage brawl type until they’re locked in a steel cage or a strap match or something along those lines.
Actually, a last woman standing match would be perfect for them, but that won’t be for a couple of weeks.
What do you think of this feud? Will it deliver?
