New Japan Strong returns with the Road to Lion’s Break Crown, New Japan of America (NJoA) tour that will see a tournament in the vein of the Young Lion’s Cup.
The tournament will see NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling) Los Angeles (LA) Dojo Young Lion Clark Connors, Danny Limelight, Blake Christian, Adrian Quest, Barret Brown, Jordan Clearwater, Logan Riegel, and The DKC.
Before the tournament begins, Road to Lion’s Break Crown features a marquee of six-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Guerrillas of Destiny (G.O.D.) [Tama Tonga/Tanga Loa) against the team of ACH and Alex Zayne.
Without a question the experience of G.O.D. gives them the advantage over their opposition. However, ACH and Alex Zayne will look to gain a key victory as both look to tour with the main NJPW branch once travel restrictions lesson.
The headline sees Fred Rosser, who hinted at having a long term arrangement with NJPW during an interview with Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Network teaming with Misterioso against former eight-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Rocky Romero and Ring of Honor (ROH) roster member, PJ Black.
This should be a highly competitive match, but Rosser will look to continue his solid form and make his case for touring Japan next year. PJ Black is looking to end a streak of fall losses with his performance.
The opening match previews the Lion’s Break Crown tournament as Clark Connors, Danny Limelight, Adrian Quest, and Logan Riegel face Blake Christian, Jordan Clearwater, Barret Brown, and The DKC match with the first fall winning the match.
This possibly could be the most exciting match of the show as the young competitors vie for momentum going into the tournament. Clark Connors and Danny Limelight are the likely favorites, yet they will have to coexist before a possible finals matchup.
