Austin Theory has been taking on all comers in NXT as of late, even taking Johnny Gargano to his limits recently. This week, he’s got Bronson Reed to contend with, a hard test for anyone. These are two bright stars, but Reed previously tore Theory apart.
Bronson Reed Doesn’t Give Theory Much Of A Chance
Things would get started, and this was looking like their last match. Theory was thrown around the ring and hit with blistering strikes. He’d slip away to hit a front dropkick, and get some offense in this match. Reed tried for a scoop slam, but Theory slipped over the top and hit a chop block.
Theory would do his best to keep Reed grounded, but failed before being sent off the rope for a scoop powerslam. Reed hit a senton, crushing Theory and went up top with bad intentions. Theory tried twice to take him down, but Reed fought him off and hit the Tsunami.
Recent matches from Theory have been strong efforts, but Reed isn’t the type to let the rookie hang in the ring for long. It was a quick one, but afterwards, Theory already wants a rematch. Clearly he had recently watched Goldberg vs. Dolph Ziggler. He’d run down Reed and say he’s done more than Reed already in his career. This match was restarted, and Theory would be flattened with a pop-up Samoan Drop, adding another to the losing streak of Theory, this one in record time.
Theory Is The Future, But Reed Is The Now
Reed is on his way to championship glory, wanting to face the winner of Johnny Gargano & Damien Priest next week. He’s been on a roll, and many feel that he should already be North American Champion. This squash of Theory, who is set to become a major star in the future, shows how strongly WWE feels about Reed.
We could very well see Reed go all the way to the NXT Championship, becoming the first Australian born NXT Champion in the process. Following the matches, Theory would apparently quit NXT, and drive off. Do you think Theory will find his head and come back to break his losing ways?
