The November 19, 2020 World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) event took place in front of 662 fans (Reduced due to COVID-19). The Korkauen Hall audience in Tokyo, Japan was as lively as New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW) COVID-19 guidelines allowed them to be.
The third series match of the event saw former six-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Teams Champions and Bullet Club members Guerillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga/Tanga Loa) [GOD] take on fellow unit mates Evil/Yujiro. Adding to the dynamic, GOD was accompanied by their manager Jado. The Evil/Yujiro team was seconded by the former’s manager, “The Spoiler” Dick Togo.
GOD came into the match with a 1-1 record after defeating Bullet Club mates Bad Luck Fale/Chase Owens on November 16th. Evil/Yujiro came in with a 2-0 record after an upset victory over former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion FinJuice (Juice Robinson/David Finlay) on the same night.
While there has been tension within Bullet Club over the past several months between “Switchblade” Jay White and Evil, however, that tension didn’t directly show itself during this match. Yet, both Jedo and Dick Togo got stretched the rules to help their teams. Jado would even hit Togo with his kendo stick.
The match was competitive between the two teams, yet GOD’s experience advantage allowed them to take the victory. Tanga Loa would gain the submission fall over Yujiro with his Operation Jado Killer Crossface technique, taught him by Jado himself at the 8 minutes and 36 seconds mark.
The win took GOD to 2-1 [4 points] before they faced reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and Suzuki-Gun members Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi) on November 19th. The loss moves Evil/Yujiro to 2-1 before they faced former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and CHAOS member “Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii/Toru Yano on the same night.
