The co Best of the Super Juniors (BOSJ 27) and World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) tournaments got underway on November 15, 2020. The event at the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium drew a crowd of 2,558 (reduced crowd due to Coronavirus, 2019), and witnessed the largest card since New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) returned from the COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) delay.
The fifth match of the event and the third WTL 2020 match saw reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and Suzuki-Gun members Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi) take on two-thirds of the reigning NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions and CHAOS members Hirooki Goto/Yoshi-Hashi.
Dangerous Tekkers made a successful V2 defense of the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship against Goto/Yoshi-Hashi on November 2, 2020, in a competitive 34 minutes and 50-second match. Goto/Yoshi-Hashi wanted to show that they could defeat the champions, setting themselves up for another title match in the near future.
In a match that saw both teams rely on a traditional two versus one approach, the tide changed back and forth as the CHAOS tandem came close to defeating the champions to start their WTL 2020 campaign on the right track.
However, Zack Sabre Jr was able to gain the fall over Yoshi-Hashi at the 10 minutes and 29 seconds mark with a Sunset Flip cradle technique. The clever victory puts the champions on the right foot to begin their campaign.
Dangerous Tekkers face Henare Ace (Hiroshi Tanahashi/Toa Henare) on November 16th, while Goto/Yoshi-Hashi will face The Empire team of Jeff Cobb/Great-O-Khan on the same night.
A victory for Dangerous Tekkers over Henare Ace will put them exactly where they wanted to be at the beginning of the tournament, while Goto/Yoshi-Hashi will need to execute a solid strategy to knock off Cobb/O-Khan.
