Former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and World Tag League 2019 (WTL 2019) winners, FinJuice (Juice Robinson/David Finlay) enter World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) as one of the favorites, despite not having teamed together since the forced COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) delay.
During WTL 2019 FinJuice proved they were capable of going on an extended run, defeating top teams, and coming through in pressure situations. Now an established tag team, FinJuice look to put themselves back on the path of winning the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship for the second time.
Reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi), former six-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Guerillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga/Tanga Loa) [GOD], and Sanada/”The Dragon” Shingo Takagi join them as favorites to claim the WTL 2020 trophy.
Due to their form throughout 2019, FinJuice will likely be able to make another run during WL 2020, with the Suzuki-Gun team of Dangerous Tekkers and the Bullet Club team of GOD being the road blocks that could keep the team from repeating as trophy winners.
FinJuice’s highlighted matches during the tournament include GOD (November 15th), Sanada/Shingo (November 28th), and Dangerous Tekkers (November 30th). If FinJuice can win those three matches they are likely to advance to the WTL 2020 Finals.
The one challenge for FinJuice will be the need to find their chemistry immediately as beginning their campaign against GOD is a stiff challenge and would be for any tag team in the world. However, FinJuice proved at Wrestle Kingdom 14 that they have what it takes to defeat the decorated tag team.
Dangerous Tekkers will provide a unique challenge for FinJuice, as the Suzuki-Gun team has continued to grow throughout 2020 and have turned into a top 10 – 15 tag team in the world.
How will FinJuice cope with the questions WTL 2020 will ask them?
