The prolific six-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and Bullet Club members Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga/Tanga Loa) [GOD] come into World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) with a bit of something to prove. While they are tied for most all-time reigns with the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship and are fifth in all-time defense rankings, the team has never won a WTL tournament nor claimed victory at Wrestle Kingdom.
GOD is unquestionably one of the best tag teams in the world, and have shown that they can beat any team on any given day. They come into WTL 2020 as the favorites along with reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi), former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion FinJuice (Juice Robinson/David Finlay), and Sanada/”The Dragon” Shingo Takagi.
While GOD’s resume eclipses that of any other team in the tournament, they will have to bring their best form if they expect to beat the other projected top teams during their WTL 2020 campaign. Their highlighted matches through the tournament see them face FinJuice (November 15th), Dangerous Tekkers (November 22nd), and Sanada/Shingo (November 30th).
GOD will also clash with fellow Bullet Club teams “Rogue General” Bad Luck Fale/”Crown Jewel” Chase Owens on NovembeBOSJ r 16th and Evil/Yujiro on November 19th. The fallout of both those matches could determine what future is in store for the Bullet Club.
GOD will come into WTL 2020 motivated to make it to another Wrestle Kingdom match, and getting their first win at the prestigious event and inside of the Tokyo Dome. Will they be able to overcome the opposition, or have they run out of Magic during their Killer run within the NJPW tag team division?
