There has been a noticeable absence in WWE over the last few months, one left by Brock Lesnar not being around anymore. His last match to date was at Wrestlemania earlier this year, when he dropped the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre in the empty WWE Performance Center. Since then, Paul Heyman has found a new client in Roman Reigns, WWE has abandoned the trademark of Brock Lesnar, and he’s become a free agent. Will we ever see ‘The Beast Incarnate’ again?
Paul Heyman Hasn’t Ruled Out A WWE Return For Brock Lesnar
While on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, Paul Heyman would give some updates on the status of Brock Lesnar, with him saying the following.
“It depends on if there’s a worthy challenger and enough box office appeal. Right now, he’s very happy being a farmer and a magnificent father to his children. However, if there’s something that WWE can offer that intrigues, motivates, or inspires Lesnar, and if the money is right and the business is solid, I’m sure he would be willing to do it.”
So while Brock Lesnar is a free agent, WWE still has dibs on him. Both parties just need the right motivation to put that deal together again. What matches could even be worth it for Lesnar & WWE?
Some Blockbuster Matches That WWE Could Do
Having done it all and beaten just about everyone, there really isn’t much need for Lesnar to do more than headline a Hall of Fame Class. However, there are a few matches WWE could build up for Lesnar.
First would be a rematch with Drew McIntyre, the man who handed him his last defeat. Since that match, McIntyre has risen up as one of the best in the company, and that is a match that deserves to happen in front of a crowd at least once.
Next, we have another match between Brock Lesnar & Roman Reigns. This is a tired feud, but there could easily be new drama brought into the mix, with Reigns now controlling Heymans longtime manager. It would give Lesnar a chance to potentially play the babyface, a role rarely seen from him, with Reigns playing the dominant heel.
Finally, there is always the dream match between Brock Lesnar & Bobby Lashley. It’s been on the minds of fans for years, ever since Lashley’s first run in WWE, when he was set up to try to replace Lesnar. He’s been on a major hot streak ever since joining up with MVP & The Hurt Business. With Lashley being better than ever, soon could be the best time to do it.
