Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Results!
In the aftermath of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, this should be a fun episode as new storylines will begin as Roman Reigns will try to look toward WrestleMania.
Unfortunately for him, we expect a couple of challengers to step up, and hopefully it won’t be Kevin Owens again.
Let’s get to the action.
The show started once again with Roman Reigns coming out with Jey Uso and Paul Heyman flanking him and a recap of the Smackdown Elimination Chamber and Universal Championship matches was shown.
Back in the ring, Reigns casually shook his head after the clip of Edge spearing him was played.
Reigns started off by saying it’s not a secret that Smackdown needs him, and so did the Elimination Chamber.
He showed up and defended his championship like the head of the table should.
He then went on about how he smashed Daniel Bryan to a chorus of piped in “You suck!” cheers. He added anyone else in his shoes would’ve had a party thrown for them, but he operates at a higher level.
If it’s not perfect, it’s not him and then he said it wasn’t perfect because of Edge.
He admitted that Edge got one by spearing him in his ring and on his night, and then had to point to the sign to make their match at WrestleMania official.
Reigns told him he doesn’t want or need it in his life, so he gave Edge a chance to back out and go home to his family, much like Randy Orton did last year.
Reigns said he likes what Edge stands for and his comeback and he doesn’t want to hurt him. He then added that Edge doesn’t stand a chance against him and that Edge needs to get through his thick head.
Daniel Bryan then came out, interrupting Reigns.
Reigns the cowardly champion
Bryan asked that Reigns described his title defense as nearly perfect and said he had to come out and say from his perspective he had to 100% agree.
He continued pointing out that it was magnanimous of Reigns to put up his championship to face someone that survived the Elimination Chamber.
He added that he heard some rumblings about people feeling differently and the way Reigns defended his championship cowardly.
Bryan then pointed out that’s not a real champion, and said it’s not him to complain and he’s just mentioning the rumors he’s been hearing.
He then said he didn’t expect Reigns to defend his title in the second to last match instead of the main event.
Bryan pointed out that he faced Reigns in his very first match in a WWE ring and offered a way to put any doubts to bed and how they’ve been compared to each other since.
Bryan asked him to defend his championship at Fastlane one on one without any qualifiers.
Jey took the mic from him and asked Bryan what he was doing out there and said all he’s hearing is a bunch of excuses.
Jey said Bryan lost and he’s at the back of the line and said he’s got to go through Jey now.
Reigns stepped forward and asked if Bryan really wants him to hurt him again, and Jey nailed Bryan form behind and threw him to the floor.
Jey then threw him over the barricade while Reigns laughed in the ring.
This was pretty predictable, but at least Heyman didn’t say anything.
Backstage, Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce were discussing matches when Edge came in and said they need to talk since Bryan might get a title match before he does despite being in the same Rumble Edge won.
Is it WWE Smackdown Results or does Edge sound a bit jealous and petty?
