At AEW Revolution, Cody Rhodes and Penta El Zero Miedo were in the Face of The Revolution Ladder Match, and neither won. Penta was able to do a great deal of damage to the shoulder of Rhodes however, an injury which persists coming into this big time singles match. Last week, Penta claimed that if he had Rhodes alone in the ring, he’ll break the arm so badly that Rhodes will never be able to hold his coming baby girl, which sparked this match tonight.
Penta El Zero Miedo Starts With A Brawl
Penta would attack before the bell, starting a brawl on the outside, hitting a superkick before throwing Rhodes into the post. Rhodes fired back by throwing him into the barricade, and getting into the ring so this could begin. Penta ripped the shirt of Rhodes off, before nailing an open palm chop.
Rhodes was getting fired up and hit a front suplex, before Penta came back with a quick sling blade. Penta would counter out of Cross Rhodes, before hitting a backstabber out of the corner. This one spilled to the outside, where Penta set up a barricade to lean on the other barricade, but didn’t get to use it.
Rhodes caught Penta on the top rope and hit a hurricanrana off the top rope. Penta kicked out, and then kicked Rhodes twice in the shoulder. That arm would be stomped on the mat, and hit a quick armbreaker. Rhodes would catch Penta with a quick kick, to the knee, before putting Penta on the apron before hitting the disaster kick.
Cody Rhodes Catches Penta Off Guard
Penta would be hit with a dive into the propped up ring barricade, adding to the damage of this move. Rhodes would be second into the ring, and Penta used the high ground advantage but lost it after wasting time with a taunt. Penta would be hit with a Canadian Destroyer, before Rhodes hit the Cody-Cutter for a two count. Cross Rhodes would follow, but Penta once again kicked out.
Rhodes set up the vertebreaker, and Penta kicked out of another big blow. Penta would have his leg smacked off the turnbuckle, before Rhodes locked in the Figure Four Leg Lock, but got the ropes. The second attempt at the Figure Four was countered into an armbreaker, but Penta wasted time taunting and got rolled up.
After the bell, Penta would continue to attack the shoulder of Rhodes, before The Nightmare Family made the save. QT Marshall was slow on the save, further adding to the fuel on that fire. What will come next for this feud? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
