Jim Ross has dropped some truth bombs and revealed the reason why Brock Lesnar left WWE in 2004. The wrestler ,in his own right, has become one of the greats of all time.
Jim Ross Reveals How Brock Lesnar Fell Out Of Love With The Fight Game
Known for having an impenetrable defence, Brock was one of the most feared fighters of his time. Even Big Show had admitted to s***ting his pants when facing him. During a discussion on Grilling Jr, Jim revealed how Brock fell out of love with wrestling and became mentally drained. He said: “He burned out. He was burned out and getting bad advice from some of his peers, I believe.
“He had this dream of playing in the NFL and apparently had that dream for many, many years. He had been so focused and grounded in the amateur wrestling world that he never got to really do that. I just think he didn’t travel well at that time.” It seems Brock’s humble beginnings may have had a decision to call it a day.
He was born and raised on a dairy farm in South Dakota, but this became a distant memory as he was headlining blockbuster wrestling events all over the world. And naturally, the fame got a bit too much, which is why he took a step back. He added: “I just think he didn’t fully understand the travel. We had him in OVW, and he didn’t travel.
“That was all local stuff. That was not the case here, and knowing the trajectory of where he was headed, it wasn’t gonna lessen.” The decision to leave, though, left a bitter taste in the mouth of Vince McMahon. It was understandable at the time, given that Vince had invested so much into Brock’s career. And Vince never did quite get over it.
He continued: “Of course. Let’s say you bring in Kurt Angle to your podcast team, and he’s doing a great job every week, and all of a sudden, he decides he’s bored with it. You spent money to promote him, gave him a spot, and cleared the booking for the show.” Brock was a brave man to walk away.
