It was a fairly eventful evening on Raw last night. Bobby Lashley made history by becoming the WWE Champion for the first time in his 16-year WWE career by beating The Miz in emphatic fashion. The night was all about Lashley’s pursuit of the WWE Championship, as The Miz constantly looked to worm his way out of defending the championship against the Almighty.
However, ultimately, he couldn’t run away from the Hurt Business and destiny it would seem. Meanwhile, there were two big teasers during the show that pointed towards two massive WrestleMania matches.
WWE News: Shane McMahon And Braun Strowman Clash
Interest in Braun Strowman has wavered over the past couple of months, as the Monster Among Men has been unable to kick on from the Universal Championship win that he had at Mania last year. The match against Goldberg was forced at the last minute due to Roman Reigns being pulled out of the event, and as soon as the WWE had the chance to move onto a new champion they did so. Strowman has been in no man’s land since dropping the title, and his return hasn’t exactly been the run that many would have expected.
He was disappointing in the Royal Rumble, before then being crushed by Lashley last week. However, there does seem to be plans heading towards a Strowman and Shane McMahon showdown at Mania judging by the exchange that we saw between the two on Raw last night.
WWE News: Charlotte Flair Looks Primed For Title Match
The Raw Women’s Championship picture is in desperate need of a shake-up, but judging by last night’s episode, it looks as though we are going to see a match that we only saw at Mania a couple of years ago. Charlotte Flair revealed that she wants to win the biggest women’s title on Raw, which would mean a showdown with former tag team partner Asuka.
Charlotte in the title picture is something that fans have needed a rest from for many years now, as she constantly gets title match after title match, just like John Cena did back in the day. There would need to be a pretty big swerve over the coming weeks by the WWE to avoid another Charlotte-Mania title shot. Rhea Ripley’s main roster debut could be the swerve, but we shall have to wait and see.
