Jey Uso has spoken on the transition that he had to go through following his recent success in the singles matchups. Jay, for his own part, is a major hit when it comes to tag team having won multiple WWE Tag Team Championships.
Jey Uso Always Knew He Had What It Took To Succeed In The Singles
In an interview with Fox Sports, Jey revealed how the switch was not actually daunting given that the sport is all about skill. He said: “I always knew I could hang with singles work because wrestling is wrestling, Uce. The only thing is, it felt weird not having Jimmy [his brother] with me coming out.”
The absence of his brother due to injury had been a blow at the time, given that they are so dominant in the tag team arena. And yet, Jey used it as motivation to improve and combat the single matchups. He has previously mentioned how the injury has been a “blessing in disguise.” But it is not just his brother that Jey is missing.
Another crucial component of his success has been the fans. This is especially significant in tag team but can equally be applied to the singles. When speaking on the fans, he said: “Man, I miss the fans. That is the biggest part. You know how they say, ‘You don’t know how important something is until it’s gone and taken away from you?’ Like, man. I didn’t know.”
Jey, however, will not let the singles success get to his head, given that he still has some business to take care of in the tag team matches. And given that Jey expects his brother to return very soon, he will, no doubt, be making his preparations. So who could the brothers face?
Well, here is what Jey had to say: “We had the Hardy Boyz, and then we had the Dudley Boyz … that’s one more team I have to mark off,” They’re the OGs of the tag division. That triple-threat ladder match at WrestleMania, bro, like, c’mon. Two out of the three teams, me and my brother got to be blessed to work with that’s another bucket list. Straight up.”
