During Arcade Anarchy, Kris Statlander would emerge from a UFO machine to help take out Penelope Ford. She is back after a leg injury, and tonight she gets back in the rankings mix as she faces independent wrestling standout, Amber Nova. Statlander was on the cusp of becoming the AEW Women’s Champion before her injury, and will be wanting to use her new connection to The Best Friends to launch herself up the rankings once again.
Kris Statlander Hasn’t Missed A Beat
Kris Statlander was flanked by all of Best Friends, and thus came out to Where Is My Mind by The Pixies. She’d start this one up with a big arm drag before booping Nova on the nose. Statlander blocked a kick from Nova, before dropping her with a snap powerslam. Nova came back with some forearm strikes before just shoving a dirty rag into the face of Statlander.
Statlander replied by hitting a press slam, a flipping leg drop and senton splash onto Nova. A running uppercut and knee strike dropped Nova, before she’d hit the Supernova for the win. It was a dominant win, and shows exactly where Statlander is going in AEW. Remember, she was able to match the power of Nyla Rose, and even beat Hikaru Shida back when she was healthy.
Add in having a great support system in Orange Cassidy, Trent? & Chuck Taylor, and we could be looking at a future AEW Women’s Champion in Kris Statlander. Do you think Statlander will become the first member of the growing Best Friends faction to win gold in AEW? Will Orange Cassidy beat her to the punch?
