Shane McMahon is a proven show stealer at Wrestlemania, and tonight seemed set perfectly for him to be thrown off the Pirate Ship in the set by Braun Strowman. Instead, we get the second only Cage Match in Wrestlemania history, with that last one being on Wrestlemania 2. Strowman has been teased to the point of enragement by McMahon, and now McMahon will be caged in with the Monster Among Men.
Shane McMahon Had A Plan.. And Some Backup
Before Strowman even hit the ring, Shane would hold the door shut as Elias & Jaxson Ryker beat him down with steel chairs. The knee was targeted, and Shane was handed a chair as this match began. With one leg, you can’t climb a cage, or defend chair shots.
McMahon went for the head and Strowman blocked, but it wasn’t long before McMahon had it again. Strowman disarmed him and threw the chair away, before standing and throwing strikes with McMahon. On one good leg, McMahon was able to outpace Strowman, and leg kicks did some work in staggering the monster.
Liver shots would do some work as well, but Strowman just shoved him away. McMahon went up top and grabbed a sheet of metal off the cage, and smashed Strowman in the face with it before going for a pinfall. Strowman kicked out, and McMahon crawled to the door and was stopped before he escaped.
Braun Strowman Tears The Cage Apart
McMahon was thrown across the ring and into the steel cage head first, before Strowman kicked McMahon in the ribs. Some heavy blows from Strowman saw McMahon go between the ropes and the cage, where McMahon was crushed. Strowman was having issues with the leg, but McMahon was able to counter the powerslam because of it.
McMahon was able to ram the head of Strowman into the cage before hitting a DDT. Strowman was set up, and McMahon nailed the Coast to Coast dropkick for a near fall. Elias & Ryker would climb up to help McMahon, before Strowman hit the cage with all his weight and sent them all falling.
McMahon was back up first, but Strowman had hold of him as they both climbed. There was a trash can on top of the cell with a tool box inside, and Strowman took it to the head. McMahon was able to climb out of the cage, but took time to wave goodbye.
Strowman grabbed the hand of McMahon, and held him in place as he ripped the cage apart from the inside. McMahon was pulled back in, and hit with a chokeslam from the top of the cage. He hit the ring with a thud, and Strowman climbed down to pin his foe after one more powerslam.
