Right now in WWE, fans are currently baffled by the booking on NXT Champion, Karrion Kross. While on NXT he’s still an absolute killer, having recently choked out William Regal and is set to clash with Samoa Joe at NXT Takeover 36? This isn’t the full story. He’s also been popping up on Monday Night RAW, where he’s lacked any mystique that was built up in NXT. His manager Scarlett is nowhere to be found, and he lost his only singles match in WWE to Jeff Hardy in under 3 minutes. However, WWE seems to have a plan in the works.
Karrion Kross Is Set To Snap, With Scarlett Bringing Him Back To Pace
Karrion Kross showing up without Scarlett was by design this whole time. Unlike similar situations Carmella being held back while Enzo & Cass got called up, Scarlett isn’t being held back to help her improve in the ring. She did have a dark match, but ended up losing and was overall not impressive in the ring. Instead, her absence is to help tell their coming storyline.
On the Mat Men podcast, Andrew Zarian would explain WWE’s current logic with Kross. “Karrion Kross was supposed to lose again to Jeff Hardy in the rematch and then finally go berzerk. I’m not 100 percent on this but I was told that the plan was that Karrion Kross keeps losing until Scarlett shows up and that’s gonna bring him back on track because she is able to unleash the warrior, whatever they’re calling him, the gladiator in him.”
This honestly isn’t the worst storyline, but Jeff Hardy being taken out due to COVID-19 might have ruined plans. Instead, Kross defeated Keith Lee in a non-title match on RAW, a match which neither result was ideal for fans. We will have to wait and see if WWE keeps this plan or changes it, but either way, Kross still needs to finish up in NXT.
Samoa Joe Set To Become Three Time NXT Champion?
At NXT Takeover 36, we will see Samoa Joe take on Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship. This could lead to a record, with Joe potentially winning his third NXT Championship at the event. With Kross on his way out of NXT, he needs to lose it soon.
The reign of Joe is likely to be a short one, as he has issues with Pete Dunne to resolve, who is long overdue for a run at the top of NXT. He wasn’t able to win the belt off Balor or Kross, but a win over Joe will mean more in the long run.
