Wrestle Kingdom 16 is in the books, and the three nights of action came and went without one of the top stars of NJPW on hand. Jay White chose to stay put in the United States, spending the holidays with his fiancee instead of in quarantine in Japan. A crucial player in New Japan Pro Wrestling of American, White is still doing plenty of work for the company – and has picked up two extra days of work that will put him on TV for Impact Wrestling.
Jay White Is Returning To Impact Wrestling
This was announced by Impact Wrestling themselves, who made sure fans knew he’d be on hand for their tapings in Fort Lauderdale. While not the debut of Jay White in Impact Wrestling, he has been out of the mix there for several months now – having no impact on the build for their recent “Hard To Kill” PPV event.
White’s biggest play in Impact Wrestling came when he added Chris Bey to the long running BULLET CLUB faction, which he is the current leader of. Right now, his final match on Impact Wrestling TV came back in July, where he lost a tag team match alongside Chris Bey to the team of Juice Robinson & David Finlay.
White Finished 2021 Strong In NJPW
Following that loss, White would only lose a single match for the rest of 2021. That came at the hands of Tomohiro Ishii, who reclaimed the NEVER Openweight Championship from White. Ishii went on to lose the belt to EVIL, putting the belt back in the Japanese branch of BULLET CLUB.
Aside from that match, White would claim wins over AEW talents in Daniel Garica & Wheeler YUTA. He’d even be able to defeat the legendary Christopher Daniels, with that match to air soon on NJPW Strong. We can only hope that White is able to be just as strong as 2022 begins. His return to Impact Wrestling could come with White finally aiming for the Impact Wrestling World Championship, currently held by Moose.
