For a few weeks now, it was assumed that we would not be seeing Brock Lesnar again on WWE TV until 2022. It seemed like his contracted appearances would run out, with him being suspended by Adam Pearce after a savage assault. However, rumors of his disappearance for the rest of the year might have been exaggerated – if Staples Center is to be believed.
WWE Have To Impress The Execs Of Fox, Pulling Out All The Stops – Including Brock Lesnar
WWE have now announced Brock Lesnar for the 12/10 Friday Night Smackdown at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. This is a major show for WWE, as many of the top brass from FOX are set to be in the arena – meaning we could see a potential PPV level card for this show. Staples Center has already started to roll out advertising to sell tickets, with Lesnar being used as the main draw.
Interestingly, reports show that Roman Reigns is not set for this episode of Smackdown Live. With a month between now and then – this could change. We could see that angle put on ice until Wrestlemania, with Lesnar taking on other opponents in a feud against Adam Pearce. With Von Wagner seeming to have buddied up with Pearce on the latest episode of Smackdown Live – that could even be a potential target for Lesnar.
Becky Lynch & Bianca Belair Advertised Despite Being On Monday Night RAW
Another interesting note ahead of this show is that two RAW Superstars are set to show up. RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is a massive name for WWE, one of their biggest on a full time basis – and this is why she’s been called in for his massive episode of Smackdown. Where Lynch goes lately, Belair follows – so we can expect them both at the event.
We will likely start to see this episode be built up like a PPV, which December lacks. There is a stretch between Survivor Series & Day One, and this show is right in the middle of that. Tables, Ladders & Chairs will not be taking place in 2021.
