One of the things that’s remained conscious in pro wrestling is how everyone influences someone, but more important is the mutual respect many have for each other.
The latest pair to share admiration for each other are WWE’s The Miz and AEW’s MJF (Maxwell Jacob Friedman).
It’s easy to get caught up in their wrestling personas, and it’s great to see a crack on their kayfabe to give us a glimpse into their true feelings.
Of course, given they’re both heels and heels tend to get along in a mutual love fest, so it’s safe to say they don’t have to break kayfabe in this case.
It is odd that Miz would address someone from AEW in such a way given WWE’s stance they don’t pay attention, not to mention how it puts a spotlight on MJF and AEW.
Miz is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
I look forward to possibly meeting up with him down the road….. https://t.co/b5nuqZJUHl

Spreading the love
The Miz did a recent interview on the Cheap Heat podcast on the Ringer Wrestling network to promote WWE’s upcoming Royal Rumble, and he opened up about the comparison’s between him and MJF.
Special thanks to Fightful.com for the following transcript:
“I don’t think he wants to be The Miz, to be honest. I don’t think any superstar, no matter what company you’re in, wants to be the next ‘this person’ … I don’t think he wants to be the next Miz, I think he wants to be the first him. Honestly, he’s doing a great job at it. 25 years old. When I was 25 years old, I was still in developmental and Deep South Wrestling and still learning the trade. I wasn’t putting on matches on national television and putting together memorable promos that people talk about. I wasn’t doing that. Applaud to him.“
This was only the start as The Miz’s sentiment was returned by MJF on Twitter with a retweet of the Fightful.com article and the response:
“Miz is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. I look forward to possibly meeting up with him down the road…..”
Love to hate
Both men have an interesting relationship with fans as they either come across as not as good as they are, or they’re awesome.
Everyone hits a rut at some point, and judging them from those moments is only seeing a piece of the overall picture.
A perfect example is how Miz made Bobby Lashley look even more incredible when he dropped the title to Lashley, and MJF is putting Wardlow over so well most of us can’t wait for Wardlow to blow his stack and go after MJF.
We love to hate them like any good heel, and imagining these two teamed up would be a sight to see.
