The Impact Wrestling tag team division in 2020 was held down by one team, and that’s The North. Ethan Page & Josh Alexander beat everyone on offer, only getting tested when Impact Wrestling legends Motor City Machine Guns showed back up, and some Good Brothers made their debut.
They are easily ranked in the best tag teams going right now, but their future was in jeopardy. Josh Alexander has signed a new deal with Impact Wrestling, but Ethan Page has not. Despite this, he urges fans that no matter what, The North will stay alive.
The North Existed Before Impact Wrestling, Will Exist After
At Impact Wrestling: Final Resolution, there was a tease of The North breaking up, with Ethan Page being left by Alexander after a loss to Karl Anderson. Because of this, Page would speak with BodySlam.net and clear the air about The North.
“We created this team before Impact. We invested in each other as performers, partners, road travelers before Impact. All this was before Impact. So if you think for one F’N second that we’re going to let Impact dictate whether we break up, or we don’t, or whatever you’re out of your damn mind.”
“I’m telling you guys. Everyone watched Final Resolution, and everyone saw my mental breakdown, whatever. It doesn’t matter. I’m telling you guys that no matter which way this goes The North are not splitting. Wherever I land in 2021, we are not breaking up. That’s my best friend in real life. That’s my best friend on screen. So, that’s not something that I’m willing to toy with to make a couple dollars in the entertainment industry.”
What Is Next For Ethan Page?
This makes it clear that The North will be fine, and also that Page might not be a lock to remain in Impact Wrestling. It felt like he was going to remain there full time, but this talk of “The North will be fine wherever I go” definitely makes the situation more interesting.
Many want Page to make his way to AEW, which could very well be fully linked to Impact Wrestling soon. Wherever he goes, he should do great. He remains tight lipped on his plans, but his contract ends December 31st.
