The hottest topic in regards to WWE in 2021 was not any of their great matches. None of their big events. Instead, it’s their constant talent cuts which have fans talking – seeing as a total of 82 talents were publicly released from WWE in 2021 alone, and this doesn’t even count releases like their media staff, or the crew running WWE Japan. However, much like Xavier Woods – MVP is not concerned about the chance of being released.
MVP Doesn’t Care, He’s Rich
While responding to fans on Instagram, who were asking about the recent wave of releases from WWE – and if MVP is worried, he’d drop a perfect response. “I’m rich. I don’t worry about shit.” MVP is a smart man who has made smart choices with his money over a long career, and right now is just doing his best work while not having to worry.
He’s been the manager of Bobby Lashley for a while now, a role which occasionally saw him enter the ring – but normally he just does the talking for Lashley, and looks cool with his cane at ringside. MVP suits the role perfectly, and has become one of the longest standing managers in modern WWE – something which is rare if your name is not Paul Heyman.
The Rest Is Just Gravy
It’s important to remember with MVP that has already accomplished what he wanted in his WWE return. He made his long awaited return at the 2020 Royal Rumble, and wrestled Rey Mysterio the next night on RAW. That was supposed to be his retirement match, with Rey being picked as that is his sons favorite wrestler.
The plan was to work backstage at a producer, but fan support kept him on TV. Right now, MVP is just enjoying some extra time in the spotlight – something that likely isn’t hurting his bank account. His confidence alone likely earned him some respect from Vince McMahon, which could keep him on TV for years to come alone.
