There’s something special that happens with people on social media, and it usually comes when someone starts a “ask me anything” on Instagram and other platforms.
On Friday may 20, Nia Jax opened one of those segments up and there were a few good questions and entertaining answers she shared.
One that was quickly shared was her response when asked if she and Becky Lynch have a good friendship or not.
Jax, as anyone that follows her on social media knows, is fluent in sarcasm. Her reply was “LOL I don’t think she has a good friendship with anyone” and a crying laughing emoticon.
Always misunderstood
It’s easy to jump on and claim Jax and Lynch hate each other given their history that seemed to start when Jax accidentally punched Lynch in the face.
But the scene of Lynch dripping blood onto the mat became iconic and it can be argued that moment elevated Lynch to superstardom as she went on to win the first ever women’s main event at WrestleMania 35 months later.
When we look at their back and forths on social media, they don’t give a lot of room to think otherwise, but they were most likely playing their part per their personas.
Though to be fair, Jax did say some nasty things to Lynch on Twitter in 2019. Still, given their line of work it’s hard to say one way or another.
For the most part, Lynch seems to be a friendly person as she’s reportedly liked and respected in the locker room. She also seems to be a WWE woman through and through, and if that works for her great.
There’s nothing wrong with being loyal and enjoying where anyone works.
During Lynch’s feud with Lacey Evans following becoming champion, Lynch took a shot at Jax when she responded to Evans cleaning a toilet with a Becky Lynch shirt by comparing Jax to a toilet.
A real burn?
Of course, we could be completely wrong as we’re basing this on Jax’s known sarcasm.
There’s every chance they don’t like each other and this was her way of insulting Lynch while laughing it off. Only she and Lynch know for sure.
But this is what makes social media fun when we see our favorite wrestlers go back and forth. We don’t know if it’s real or not, and that can add another layer to when they do meet at a signing or in the ring.
It’s also one of the reasons why so many old school fans don’t like wrestlers breaking their character on social media, but there’s always a love/hate relationship no matter what happens.
