Since the debut of AEW Dynamite in 2019, we’ve seen a lot of talent come and go, with some starting on shows like AEW Dark and working their way up to PPV events. Few have walked that path and shown more potential than Powerhouse Hobbs. From his time in the now defunct Team Taz alongside Ricky Starks, to sharing the ring with CM Punk on AEW Rampage, to his recent attempts to claim the TNT Championship – Hobbs has been someone who has consistently shown his massive potential. To many like Arn Anderson, it’s a matter of if, not when, he reaches the main event.
Arn Anderson Feels Powerhouse Hobbs Could Be A Main Event Star
On the latest edition of Arn Anderson’s podcast for AdFreeShows – he’d be asked who he sees rising to the top of All Elite Wrestling. He would reply by gushing about the sheer potential that Powerhouse Hobbs has in AEW.
“I think if given a little more time and a little more experience, Will Hobbs. Powerhouse Hobbs. He has all the athletic potential. He is a quality human being. A beast. He can turn it up. He’s explosive. He just needs to be in a bunch of matches with guys that have more experience than him and he will pick it up just like that. I have a lot of time for Powerhouse.”
Hobbs Will Be In The Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match
The next big chance for Powerhouse Hobbs will come on the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite. Hobbs was chosen to be involved in the 2023 “Face of the Revolution” ladder match, with the winner getting a shot at the TNT Championship – currently held by Samoa Joe, who defends against Wardlow at AEW Revolution.
At just 32 years old, Hobbs is just entering the prime years of his career. We can hopefully see him become a more prominent name on AEW TV as 2023 continues, with Hobbs still mainly relegated to shows like AEW Dark: Elevation. During the most recent episode taped in Phoenix, Arizona – Hobbs was one of the most popular names on hand for the tapings of Elevation, with his match airing on Monday, February 27th.
