There are moments that happen in professional wrestling that are often unplanned, and they can be some of the best memories we have as fans.
The wrestlers love those moments themselves they are entertainers and they enjoy entertaining us whether we’re cheering or booing them. It’s all the same.
The Hurt Business is Among Bobby Lashley’s Most Epic Memories
One group in recent memory really captured fans’ attention and hearts, and it was the Hurt Business led and managed by MVP as he passed on his knowledge to Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander.
It was a great time and they dominated before other factions were a thing in the WWE once again.
Unfortunately, the powers-that-be in the WWE decided to pull the plug on the faction too early in many fans’ minds, and MVP as said he tried to convince them to let the Hurt Business continue or return to no avail.
We were teased a reunion of sorts until that was halted a few months back, and with Shelton Benjamin being released that officially puts an end to that. For now, anyway.
A great moment
Bobby Lashley recently did an interview with 100.7 The Bay and they discussed a whole slew of different topics, but one was the legacy of the Hurt Business.
“I never put things as this is better than that. But I could put a category of some of my extreme highlights of my career. And, of course, winning a WWE Championship is one of those. But I put the Hurt Business right up there because it was something that just moved a lot of people in a very challenging time because we were running it during the pandemic and we were running it during like COVID and everything was going all over the place. And it was that one thing that you can turn on TV and just get a refreshing get a good feeling about.
“There’s so many people who call, send me DMs, sent me messages and everything and talk to me about how impactful that was for them. So, and then… and then just the group of people that I was with, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric, and MVP, those three guys were good friends. They were close friends. And it’s always… it’s always exciting when you’re able to do big things with people that are close to you. So, of course, that time of my career was and will always be something that I hold near and dear to my heart.”
There’s a possibility we’ll see another version of the Hurt Business since Lashley has taken the Street Profits under his wing in recent weeks.
There’s an argument that the Street Profits have more star potential than Benjamin and Alexander and that may be true, but it feels like we didn’t get to see Benjamin and Alexander together for a serious run long enough to fully agree.
There’s always the what ifs involved, especially for fans, and we’ll be talking about the old and new Hurt Business for a long time to come.
