When it comes to WWE and their womens division, there are several talents who don’t quite get enough recognition. They might not be as good as the top talents like Asuka or Becky Lynch, but they are quietly ready for their moment in the spotlight. One of these women is Dana Brooke. She has reportedly signed a new deal with WWE which will see her stay with the company until 2024.
Dana Brooke And Her Potential
Dana Brooke has been strictly in the undercard of the womens division since her debut. Her biggest match was arguably when she teamed with Charlotte Flair to face Sasha Banks and her mystery partner, the debutting Bayley. This happened at Battleground 2016. Since that match, Dana has improved in just about every aspect. Her partnership with Charlotte where she acted as her protege ended by the end of 2016. That seemed like when Dana would be launched to stardom. The segment which saw her slap Charlotte and refuse to do her dirty work. It got a very positive reaction from the fans, but nothing became of it. She was sparsely seen on TV in 2017 & 2018.
Earlier this year, she started to generate some hype following a series of very impressive matches with fellow undercard talent Sarah Logan on WWE Main Event. She was showing a much higher level of skill than ever shown before. That combined with her good look spells potential for her future. She has lately been getting seen more on TV, with an impressive showing with Bayley recently and a union of sorts with Elias.
Could She Be A Future Womens Champion?
In recent history, only a select handful of women have held singles gold on the main roster. These are pretty usual suspects, people like Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks, Asuka & Becky Lynch. The cream of the crop. The notable exception was Nia Jax, who WWE had hope for as a bigger star than she was. There was also Carmella who won it off of cashing in Money in the Bank and hasn’t sniffed the title scene since losing the belt. Dana Brooke over the next 5 years could also break routine and gain championship glory, especially if she continues to improve.
