NXT UK Takeover Blackpool II is underway as I type this folks! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you the live recap and results from the show as they come! We just saw the conclusion of a rugged grudge match, which saw Trent Seven take on Eddie Dennis. It was Dennis’ second match back from a serious injury, atleast as far as NXT UK’s shows go.
Dennis made his initial comeback by unexpectedly emerging from the crowd, taking Trent by surprise by taking hold of him. It promised to be a hard hitting, physical bout, the kind that tends to exemplify the brand. NXT UK’s identity is a bit rougher than everything else under the WWE banner.
You can see an excerpt of my recap of this match below:
Seven trying for the Birming Hammer, Dennis escapes to the apron, big forearm takes him to the mat. Dennis removing the turnbuckle pad but the ref catches him, Seven nails him! Takes him up top, the turnbuckle pad just falls off… Seven with a superplex, nearfall!
Seven wants the Seven Stars, but Dennis ducks it, and Seven ends up slamming into the exposed buckle! Crowd is giving Dennis a lot of flak! Dennis hooks Seven for the Razor’s Edge, he wants to slam him into the buckle but the ref is getting in the way of it, not letting it happen… so instead Seven tosses him to the floor, he slams into a stagehand!! Dennis throws him into the ring for the cover, narrow kickout! Trent Seven Army chant starts again, Dennis pulls him up, Neck Stop Driver for the victory!
Winner: Eddie Dennis
This was about as expected, a very roughhousing match to be sure. At the end of it, Seven was left with a nasty bump on his forehead. That fall towards the end was a pretty nasty looking one. Dennis establishing himself as a threat for the coming months.
