Hello everybody! As of last night, Impact Unbreakable 2019 is in the books. With that in mind, you can see a quick rundown of the results below. Check it out!
Impact Unbreakable 2019:
– In tag action, Ray Rosas & Peter Avalon defeated Chris Bey & Watts via pinfall at the 7:35 mark after an assisted Death Valley Driver.
– A big multi-man match saw X-Division Champion Jake Crist retain his title over Trey, Ace Austin, Danny Rivera and Adrian Quest. Crist pinned Rivera after a cutter at the 9:55 mark.
– Madison Rayne defeated Ayoka Muhara via pinfall after a Cross-Rayne at the 5:10 mark.
– Michael Elgin pinned Eddie Edwards after an Elgin Bomb at the 16:55 mark.
– Rhino cuts a promo on Moose. He says he can have his ‘no jackhammers needed’ because he has no f**ks given.
– Scott Steiner cuts a beloved Professor Steiner callback math promo.
– Scott Steiner, Petey Williams & Jordynne Grace defeated Gentleman Jervis, Ryan Taylor and Dicky Meyer via submission after Scott locked all three opponents in a simultaneous Steiner Recliner. This occurred at the 11:25 mark.
– Knockouts Champion Taya takes a countout loss to Havok to retain her title at the 8:55 mark.
– Rhino defeated Moose via a Gore at the 10:55 mark. This was after kicking out of Moose’s spear and driving him to pick up a chair no less! Strong return for the Man Beast.
– Impact Tag Team Champions The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page) retained their titles in a three-way tag match against Reno Scum (Adam Thornstowe & Luster the Legend) and the team of Rich Swann and Willie Mack. They won by pinfall after an Alley Oop Double Slam to Thornstowe at the 12:15 mark.
– In something of a surprise to me personally, Sami Callihan defeated Tessa Blanchard in the main event of the second PPV in a row. It did come after a screwjob, as interference from Jake Crist caused the ref to miss Tessa’s pin after hitting Magnum, and Sami proceeded to hit her with Crist’s X-Division title only for a kickout. But a Cactus Special sealed the deal at 17:50.
That win makes Callihan the No. 1 Contender to the Impact World Championship, currently held by Brian Cage. This sets him up to face Cage at Bound For Glory.
– After the match, Tommy Dreamer ran in to chase away Callihan and Crist and help Tessa to her feet. He gets a chant, but takes up the mic and lets them know that she’s the only whose name they should be chanting. He puts Tessa over big, praising her for her hard work and how she always got back up no matter what hit her. She makes it back to her feet as the crowd chants her name. Tommy thanks her, telling her that performers like her make him proud to call himself a wrestler. And the show closes.
And that was Impact Unbreakable. No title changes, and one championship match ending with a count-out. Plus a lot of old legends getting wins over current talent. Not exactly the most newsworthy night and it really seems like more could’ve been progressed just going by results. But it is the setup show to their annual grand finale event. We’ll see how Bound For Glory pans out on October 20th.
