The Butcher & The Blade aren’t exactly the hottest act in All Elite Wrestling at the moment. They do have the potential to become a major tag team for the brand. Andy Williams obligations to the world of music will not stop him on this either. The duo appeared on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday, where they teamed with MJF to face the team of Dustin Rhodes, DDP, & QT Marshall in a winning effort. Getting to work with wrestling legends like Dustin Rhodes & Diamond Dallas Page was too alluring for The Butcher.
The First Time In 22 Years Andy Williams Missed An Every Time I Die Show
For those unaware, Andy Williams is the guitarist for metalcore band Every Time I Die, and has been for the majority of the bands existence. This past Wednesday was the first time he would miss a show for the band, instead appearing on AEW. He was the only member of the band to have never missed a show, and that record has now ended with him not making their show this past Wednesday in Paris.
His bandmates have been nothing but supportive of this however. They touched down overseas, and sent the following tweet: “4/5ths of ETID have landed safely overseas, but Andy made a pit stop in Miami to kick a little ass. Tune in to AEW Wrestling tonight to see the hardest working man in hardcore!”. This was posted along with the promo image for his scheduled match. It’s likely he caught a plane following his match to get back on the road with his band, triumphant in his victory. There is no rest to be had with his two careers of choice.
Could Butcher & Blade Be Future Tag Team Champions For AEW?
This show of dedication will not go unnoticed by the higher ups at AEW. I’m not saying they deserve to go ahead and squash the winner of SCU vs. Hangman & Omega at the upcoming PPV. But as they continue to improve as a tag team, they deserve their shot down the line. Once they are able to break away from MJF and become their own act, they have potential to be one of the more interesting tag teams in all of AEW, and perhaps even worthy champions.
