This is one of those rumors that refuse to die, and with good reason. Not only do fans want to see Ronda Rousey return, but it’s safe to say Vince McMahon agrees.
This is purely speculation, but Ronda Rousey returning to the event that was also her last one to challenge Lynch one on one would bring in serious bank for the WWE. It’d also probably be the main event again, and if that happens, it’s likely to be far better than WrestleMania 35’s main event (sorry, but it was bad).
Lynch vs. Rousey
This is really the only plausible outcome as WWE creative has made Becky Lynch virtually unbeatable to all but one or two competitors, with Rousey being the most obvious one despite not being on the active roster. Plus, this would be Rousey’s chance to come back to a raucous welcome and elevate the Raw women’s championship.
To be honest, a Becky Lynch versus Ronda Rousey one-on-one match would be the rematch “we’ve all been waiting for” (you know this is what the announcers will say) by bringing the two virtually unbeatable forces in WWE’s women’s division together for what is sure to be billed as an instant classic.
This would have an immediate effect on the women’s division in general, as having so much attention put on the Raw women’s title would allow them to tweak Bayley’s arc and make her more intense as she’d continue to rail against Smackdown being the afterthought for fans.
Of course, this would cut back on the lack of opportunities they’re already giving other wrestlers that deserve more like Natalya and Ember Moon, with Moon expected to return soon from injury.
Could this really happen?
Never say never is a great saying, and it pertains perfectly to the WWE.
This is more than rumors as Triple H has said, “She’ll be back at some point. She’s just getting a lot done.”
Sure, there’s a possibility this is more his opinion than actual knowledge, but he is second to Vince McMahon in the company, so he’s definitely in the know..
Following WrestleMania 35, it was rumored that Rousey was injured, then left to explore other opportunities (movies and other exploits) and to start a family. In the end, the choice will be hers and the WWE and fans will welcome her back with open arms, and rightly so. She adds a level of depth to the women’s division that’s been lacking with the lack of push coupled with injuries to various superstars.
Another mark in the probable column is that she’s still part of the WWE as she was recently on Total Divas.
She even said that no one never really leaves the WWE.
It all comes down to if Rousey feels she is ready. When she is, we’ll be waiting.
