Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you another night of recap action for WWE Raw!
Becky Lynch opens the show. She says the Man has come around to Boston. Tells Shayna and Bayley that she’s right here. Dares them to face her champion to champion. They’ve both been going from one show to another yelling about brand supremacy. Well she doesn’t give a bollock about brand supremacy. Says we don’t need to wait until Sunday, when we can go tonight.
Naturally the IIconics interrupt. Royce and Kay say for those who haven’t yet heard the news, they’ve somehow been left off the Raw women’s Survivor Series team. There’s heat for this, can’t tell why. They call this a huge oversight as they get into the ring and claim to be the future. Becky cuts them off and says while it’s supposed to be her and Charlotte teaming tonight for whatever reason, she’d rather take on both of them herself. Charlotte makes her way out anyway.
She says if she wants them herself, fine. Admits that she doesn’t wanna tag with her either, but “The Forces” want them together. Charlotte finally confirms herself as the first entrance on the Raw Women’s Survivor Series team. And… Samoa Joe interrupts now. What’s happening? I suppose we’re meant to be confused since we leave off on this cliffhanger for our first commercial break.
Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair vs. The IIconics
And we’re just back now with Joe at commentary for this match. Bulldog onto the knee, brawling between Peyton and Charlotte. Kay with a blind tag, avoids a shot, hot shots Charlotte, Spinning Heel Kick from Peyton, Kay covers for a 2 count. Tag to Peyton, double kick, double stomp. Quick tags and isolation. Charlotte tries to chop her way out, ends up getting Kay down into the Figure Eight. Peyton runs in, but Becky intercepts with a Bexploder, Kay taps.
Winners: Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair
Pretty easy win, as well as it should be. Kinda funny that after Becky suggested fighting them both by herself, Charlotte ended up winning without ever tagging out. Becky did still do stuff so you don’t totally have that story but still.
Anyway as Becky and Charlotte leave, Ronda Rousey’s Friends emerge from the crowd to assault the IIconics. Becky and Charlotte turn and dart back inside only to get pummeled as well. They leave through the crowd as per usual. Becky and Charlotte eventually get up and rush out into the crowd to pursue them, but security holds them back.
Incidentally Joe explained that he’s on commentary because he’s “Lesnar-proof”, even with his broken hand.
Interviewer Girl #2 talks to Hawkins and Ryder after their earned a shot at the tag titles at a live event in Germany. They talk about how there’s a reason they’ve been around so long… when Akam & Razar finally appear to stare them down! Somehow they don’t really look any bigger than Hawkins & Ryder. They do assault them and leave them laying however.
The OC make their way out. AJ Styles says he wants one thing clear. He’d love to defend his US Championship tonight against Humberto, but he disrespected him last week. Gallows backs him up and says when you disrespect one member of the OC you disrespect them all. AJ says that’s why Hot Karl Motherlovin’ Anderson is gonna beat the hell out of him instead. Anderson says that sounds like a party. Notes that Gallows and himself are already the best tag team in the world. They recite their Original, Official, Only Club That Matters slogan.
This match-up seems overdue but better late than never I suppose.
Humberto Carrillo vs. Karl Anderson
Anderson takes Humberto to the corner, whip to the opposite side, Humberto with the floatover and backflip, arm drag, springboard lucha arm drag. Twisting crossbody off the top! Goes up, but AJ and Gallows drag Anderson to the floor. Humberto has to go back to the mat. He seems prepared to dive, when the Street Profits emerge to even up the numbers. OC are distracted watching them come out, when Humberto catches them with a tope con hilo! Commercial break. We come back to see Anderson getting the heat on Humberto. He throws him to the corner, lays in uppercuts. Body slam, side headlock. Shoot to the ropes, shoulderblock, puts the headlock back on.
Light “CM Punk” chant starts for a few moments as Anderson just keeps grinding away. Dashes in, Humberto with a double foot press, into a dropkick out of the corner. Snapmare, basement dropkick! Handspring into a Standing Moonsault for a 2 count. Humberto with a big crossbody for a nearfall. Springboard, caught out of the air with a huge Spinebuster for a nearfall! Wants a powerbomb, Humberto with a rana reveral sends him to the corner! Springboard Roundhouse Kick! Carrillo is slow here, clearly hindered as he wants to go up top. AJ distracts the ref, Gallows with a hot shot on Humberto, into an inside cradle from Anderson. But before the ref turns around, Street Profits come in to roll Humberto and Anderson over, reversing the cradle – and this gets the win.
Winner: Humberto Carrillo
Cute finish, good to see babyfaces actually being able to help each other and even up the odds like that. Humberto should really be winning by himself more though.
Seth backstage says he considers himself a leader. Boston knows about that, and Seth genuinely compares himself to Tom Brady. Says he has a lot of respect for Andrade. But it’s not Monday Night Andrade; not yet. It’s Monday Night Rollins. Interviewer Girl #2 then teases some breaking news coming up.
Bobby Lashley and Lana make their way out. No Way Jose awaits in the ring. Lana with a mic says that today is literally the happiest day of her life because this morning, she filed for divorce. Pretty loud chant of “Rusev Day” as Lashley whispers in her ear. Lana says she has some really bad news because none of them will see her soon-to-be ex-husband! Repeats that this morning she filed for divorce and when Rusev landed in the US today he was offered a temporary restraining order in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. This means Rusev cannot come within 90 miles of herself. Lashley whispers into her ear again, Lana laughs about him correcting her and says he can’t come within 90 feet of her. Lana seemed a tad rattled there for whatever reason.
Bobby Lashley vs. No Way Jose
Lashley gets Jose into a side headlock. Jose tries to shoot him off, but Lashley with a handful of afro. Jose gets a big shot in, float over evasion in the corner. Jose with a little dance, and a glance to Lana. Lashley rushes in and eats a shot. Bobby Lashley with an Inverted Back Suplex, running shoulder block. Whips him to the rope, One-Handed Chokeslam. Full Nelson. And… in moments, Jose passes out.

Throws him back in, looking for the Springboard Knee. Nails it! Cover for a nearfall. Stomps ensue, decent “Burn It Down” chants, thrust kick to the gut, Andrade avoids the Stomp but eats a Superkick! Rollins wants a Buckle Bomb, but a rana takes him into the turnbuckle! Running Meteora, nearfall!

They work together to send them running. Rollins and Andrade stare down afterwards, Seth says they’ll do this again.
Backstage, Buddy Murphy walks up to Aleister Black’s room, knocks on his door and yells that he’s here to pick a fight with him! Waits a few seconds and walks off, calling him all talk. Black shoots out after he comes out, whizzing his head around. That was pretty funny and these two would sure have a kickass match.
Akira Tozawa comes out, has a promo in the inset. He has a message for Buddy Murphy, yells at him in Japanese, gives a thumbs up.
Akira Tozawa vs. Buddy Murphy

Good stuff! It is unfortunate that WWE audiences aren’t conditioned to like wrestling.

Winner: Erick Rowan
That’s about as strong as you’ll see someone look on an ep of Raw.
Interviewer Girl #1 backstage with Randy Orton. Orton says for 18 years it’s been proven that he doesn’t play well with others; unless it benefits him. Being the greatest superstar in the history of Survivor Series benefits him. He hears the Viking Raiders were looking for a fight. Winner: No Contest
And as we come back I guess the match is just over. Triple H in the ring demands water, hands it to Owens. NXT folks on the ramp, Dijakovic, Forgotten Sons, Damian Priest. Triple H says he always loved Boston, talks about Killer Kowalski training him around here. Says he’s been here millions of times and magic happens in this building. Tonight’s no different, they have an oppurtunity to make some magic. Says he has a soft spot for Rollins, he’s passionate, he wears his passion on his sleeve. But he tells Owens that he is different. He is a guy that when he brought to NXT, he would turn on his own best friend to become NXT Champ and he had the guts to take that title to Raw and pick a fight with John Cena. By the time that night was over, Cena was in an ambulance and Owens had his foot atop Cena’s US title with the NXT title high above his head. Triple H said Owens was perhaps more than anyone the one to put NXT on the map and legitimize it.
“And then, they took you.” Triple H says it wasn’t his choice and maybe he didn’t wanna leave but he was forced to. He was taken people by people who didn’t realize until they had him that they didn’t want him. Says he was too talented and too smart and didn’t fit their mold, recalls him being fired time and again and told he doesn’t belong. Triple H says he sees a guy with the greatest ring IQ he’s ever seen, someone as good as he thinks he is and knows he is. He sees a guy who doesn’t fit the damn mold and doesn’t fit and he loves it. Points out the NXT guys and says they are just here to ensure that they can have this conversation, they’re not here to attack him or give him an ultimatum. But isn’t it ironic that these guys came all the way here for you? And yet his teammates aren’t out here to back him up. Says that’s because they don’t give a damn about him. But that’s only half of it. The other reason is because they know if they walk out here they’ll get their asses kicked because they are no longer the A-Brand.
On cue, dudes in red shirts arrive to attack NXT’s invaders… as the Undisputed Era swarms in on Owens in the ring! Triple H looks a little confused but walks off. Eventually the OC runs off the Undisputed Era.
Interviewer Girl #1 backstage for that breaking news. Announces Humberto vs. AJ next for the US title. Humberto’s there, says he’s humbled and excited. Interviewer then throws things over to the advocate, Mr. Paul Heyman.
Heyman introduces himself quite unnecessarily given that he was just introduced. Says he was asked to sit here tonight and tell the story, but you know this tune. Lesnar imposed his will on Rey Mysterio and victimized his son. Later that week Brock Lesnar took by force the WWE title from Kofi Kignston. But Rey Mysterio brought back the ghost of Lesnar’s past, the man who scarred Lesnar’s face, Dominik’s godfather Cain Velasquez. So Brock demanded to face Velasquez and at Crown Jewel, Brock conquered Cain, only to be mugged by Mysterio with a steel pipe.
Paul says that their public position is that Brock is just fine, but there’s some wild rumors that he was injured in that attack and is vulnerable to an upset. Suggests we make things more interesting. The match at Survivor Series is now No Holds Barred. This Sunday you will either see Mysterio pull off a miracle and avenge his families’ honor, or you will see Lesnar put on a match so graphic in nature that it will have to be removed from the WWE Network, it won’t just be a five second match it will be public torture.
Interviewer Girl #1 introduces Rey, who first addresses Humberto, tells him that he has no idea how proud he makes the Latino people and tells him he knows that he has what it takes to defeat AJ Styles. Rey says that he accepts the proposal. He already showed Brock what he can do with a little help from his friend. Rey takes up the pipe and says this friend of his will be with him in Chicago. Asks Brock if he thinks this stipulation is to his advantage or Rey’s. Says he will hunt him down and make him pay. The old him would be out there demanding an apology but you’re not the one to apologize and that’s okay because this Sunday at Survivor Series, he’s not coming for an apology. He’s coming for the WWE Championship. Says this is for you, son.
Asuka vs. Natalya
Snap suplex from Nattie. Gets some shots in. Corner whip reversed, Nattie evades the charge, wants the slingshot back suplex, Asuka hip tosses out of it but eats a release German Suplex. Discus Clothesline! Waistlock, Asuka with back elbows, escapes to the outside to make Natalya follow her. Kairi gets in front of Nattie, Nattie knocks her away, Asuka with a baseball slide to the side of the head. Natalya retakes the advantage and throws her into the ring, pursues, eats a Roundhouse Kick to the head for the pin.
Winner: Asuka
Missed the first part of the match but it seems like I got most of this.
Orton and his mystery partner challenges the Viking Raiders next in what seems to be the main event. As expected, it’s Ricochet.
WWE Raw Tag Team Championships: The Viking Raiders (c) vs. Randy Orton & Ricochet
Ricochet starts with Erik. Leg kick, no sold. Erik throws him to the corner, Ricochet avoids, chop. Throw to the opposite corner, Erik floats over, takedown, waistlock slam. He hoists him up for a powerbomb but Orton cuts him off! Ivar wants a dive but Orton clips him! Ricochet comes off the second rope with a moonsault to the floor, ducked, Ricochet lands on his knees and eats the knee from Erik! Orton grabs him though, back suplex takes him onto the apron!
Meanwhile backstage blue shirt boys are attacking red shirt boys again. After a commercial break, we see Orton controlling Erik with a front facelock. Erik fights to his feet, turned into a side headlock. Erik escapes, forearm takes him down. Simultags, Ricochet and Ivar each roll on each other’s backs, answering with duel cartwheels, enziguri from Ricochet! Handspring shot ducked, Ivar with a handspring elbow! Ivar knocks Orton off the apron, throws him to the floor. Ivar hits the ropes, suicide dive to both Orton and Ricochet! Orton thrown into the ring, seems he tagged back in at some point. Ivar tosses Ricochet powerfully into a barrier before making his way in only to get caught by the Draping DDT! Orton stalks for the RKO. Meanwhile SmackDown’s super unthreatening theme plays, boys in blue spill out to assault Orton and Ricochet to silence.
Winners: Randy Orton & Ricochet (By DQ)
Raiders pull people but get overwhelmed themselves. They still make it into the ring though as SmackDown’s boys back off. And now in come the NXT invaders to assault the SmackDown boys. Yet more NXT invaders make their way from the crowd, overwhelming numbers. But folks come in to get RKOs and Recoils, before the numbers overwhelm. Finally Rollins comes out leading redshirts to the ring. It’s a chaotic brawl now. Last shot in the ring sees Roderick Strong get a big knee lift to AJ.
Triple H flashes onto the screen to say that in six days NXT will prove that it is the A-Brand in WWE. As for this Wednesday night, it’s an open door to anyone who wants to come fight them. NXT stands tall in the ring, with Keith Lee press slamming Humberto onto a huge group of redshirts.
