Val Venis spent most of the night trending on social media, but not for anything he did. The thanks go to Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins’ Monday After Weekend Update segment . When they got to fans wanting to see a relationship between Otis and Mandy Rose, there was a brief montage of Otis dancing with Val Venis’ music playing in the background. Of course, this led to fans speculating on will Val Venis return?

Will it happen?
As awesome as it’d be to see Val Venis return to a WWE ring for the first time since 2009, it’s doubtful it’ll happen. Mainly because this idea was most likely not intended to bring him back, and his schedule may not match up well with what the WWE needs.
That doesn’t mean it won’t happen, especially given how much love the fans showed for him by making him trend. That alone should give Vince McMahon something to think about and maybe make happen.
McMahon has shown he’s willing to consider bringing anyone back if there’s a chance for him to make some money on the deal and improve the product. Venis could do both, as he was always a fan favorite that rarely tasted anything beyond the mid-card level.
Epitomizing the Attitude Era
Val Venis was dubbed The Big Valbowski and was the second coming of “Ravishing” Rick Rude but edgier. He was billed as an adult film star, with one of his vignettes featuring real adult star Jenna Jameson, and had several affairs in storyline that led to some fun feuds.
In many ways, he was the what made the Attitude Era. His raunchiness was received by fans and was a further step for WWE creative to push the envelope away from the wholesomeness of the Golden Era. He’d come to the ring wearing a towel, do a quick self-rub down dance, and off we’d go.
He helped make it fun to watch as we didn’t know which female superstar he’d go after next to get him in trouble with their boyfriend, husband, or manager. He was among the assemble group of mid-carders that worked as a cushion between the bigger stars without a let down, a huge difference from what the WWE has been putting out for a while.
He’d drag the WWE out of the PG Era
It’s safe to say he’d add a far edgier and entertaining to watch segments that’d allow the WWE to forget the Lana/Ashley angle fans have been tired of for a while now.
In fact, it could be argued that him trending was the fans begging for a legitimate edgy segment like in the old days. Considering the Lana/Ashley angle is the type of thing the WWE wants to do to push the envelope. Given that, why not see if Venis would be interested in coming back.
We could then go from asking will Val Venis return to “Yeah! This is awesome!”
