It’s Friday night. Time for another preview of WWE SmackDown. Coming off an, uh, interesting trip to the UK to say it gently, we have a night mostly dedicated to filling out the Survivor Series teams. There’s still plenty of spots left here so plenty should be revealed. Let’s get to it.
Lacey Evans has joined Team SmackDown in the Women’s Survivor Series match.
This was part of their preview even though it’s really just an announcement all it’s own. I assume we’ll hear from her about it though. Yannow I was generally doing pretty well at keeping up with who is on what show but I gotta say, I really thought Lacey was still on Raw. Guess she hasn’t shown up on the blue brand too much, it hasn’t stuck at all with me that she moved.
Mustafa Ali & Shorty G will face Bobby Roode & Dolph Ziggler with Survivor Series spots on the line.
Did you catch that…? Ali got his first name back! One of the many people to see their first or last names drop after moving to the main roster, Ali always seemed to be a little bothered by it. He picked the name in part because he wanted to normalize Muslims as babyfaces and try and set a good example. Taking it away was counterproductive to say the least, I know he was lobbying to get it back from the outset. So, nice to see.
Anyway, this match should be pretty fun. Definitely some good teams there, and they all seem equally likely to make it onto a Survivor Series team so it’ll be intriguing.
Nikki Cross vs. Bayley once more
This time it’s non-title, but the last spot in the Women’s Survivor Series match is on the line. Sasha Banks is the team captain, with Lacey Evans, Dana Brooke and Carmella currently announced. They could uh, use Nikki on that team, speaking personally. But due to her grudge against her it seems she’s not willing to let that happen easily. Nikki will have to defeat the champ in non-title competition to earn her way.
I’ve gotta think she gets on. It seemed like the feud was ending when Sasha beat her as well but a win here would obviously put her right back in title contention and continue the angle as well.
Daniel Bryan will be on MizTV.
The Miz will have Daniel Bryan as a guest, coming off of last week where he was courted by Sami Zayn, only to be abandoned by him as the Fiend attacked. That certainly makes for a lot to talk about.
The Revival get their WWE SmackDown Tag Team Title rematch against the New Day.
As always, these two teams had a real good match last week in spite of how odd the editing was for the taped show at points. New Day are currently part of the three-way match between Raw, SmackDown and NXT’s tag champs but Revival could retake their spot in that match here.
