After the opening segment of WWE Raw tonight, which I’ll do a deeper dive on in a moment, we have a major match announced for later in the evening. Seth Rollins turned heel on practically the entire roster in the Town Hall Meeting. This ended up with him alone in the ring with Kevin Owens, who he described as Mr. NXT, questioning his loyalty to Raw and running him down as someone who wanted to be the new Seth Rollins, yelling at him that he would never be Seth Rollins. Seth didn’t even really let him get a word in edgewise, before he eventually dropped him with a stunner, to a pretty damn big pop.
Afterwards, a furious Rollins was interviewed and demanded to face Owens one on one in the ring.
That match was swiftly confirmed and is our likely main event for WWE Raw tonight.
It’s a big one to say the least, a battle between two former Universal Champions. And after that opening segment it should have a fair bit of heat to it. Seth Rollins has already been one of the more despised figures on WWE TV and making the turn official has seemingly only amplified things. Kevin Owens meanwhile has been a top babyface for pretty much the whole year. He’s a popular guy, and after his appearance at TakeOver WarGames, he’s on a bit of a hot streak again.
The two of them will most assuredly have a great match if given the proper time, and one with some major implications as well. After all I Imagine if Owens were to defeat Seth Rollins here tonight, he’d put himself to the front of the line to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship in the near future.
I’ll of course be here to recap the match as it occurs and give you the result. Stay tuned, as WWE Raw is still underway.
