The best part of wrestling in the modern era, is wrestlers from different companies have an easy way to interact with each other. The latest example of this has happened when ‘The Monster Among Men’ Braun Strowman tweeted “Dinosaur vs Dinosaur I like the sound of that!!!! #HossFight”, to which a fan simply replied “Luchasaurus?“. Braun quickly fired back with “No a real big man not some dork In a dragon mask!!!!“. Luchasaurus is known for really living up his gimmick on Twitter, that being that he is legitimately a dinosaur. His response plays into this “Wow… I haven’t heard the dragon insult since the Middle Ages.” Strowman shouldn’t exactly talk about people wearing silly masks.
Obviously this match will not go anywhere, they are in different companies, Braun Strowman is likely to be a WWE employee for his career, and Luchasaurus is one of the biggest potential stars AEW has to offer. Part of the fun of being a wrestling fan is day dreaming about matches that will never be. This simple exchange added Luchasaurus vs. Braun Strowman to that list for me personally.
How Would They Stack Up?
Braun Strowman is not a small man. He comes in at 6’8, and a whooping 385 lbs. He is one of the premiere super heavyweights in WWE at this moment, with the torch being passed from The Big Show to him during their amazing series of matches in 2018, which saw them break the ring with a Superplex. Braun has not found much title success, he is a one time RAW Tag Team Champion with a literal child as his partner, and he won the Money in the Bank briefcase but failed to secure the Universal Championship from Roman Reigns in their Hell in a Cell matchup.
Luchasaurus couldn’t quite look Strowman in the eyes, but at 6’5, he is by no means dwarfed by The Monster Among Men. He also gives up a large amount of weight, being only 233 lbs. His advantage over Strowman would be his shocking agility. Luchasaurus is well capable of throwing people around like a sack of potatoes, then hit a standing moonsault with the greatest of ease.
A match between these two wouldn’t be a hoss match of old, but wouldn’t be too similar to Keith Lee vs. Dominik Dijakovic either. Braun would play a true class hoss role, while Luchasarus would be zooming around him. It would be an exciting match for sure, and one fans would be better for seeing. Maybe if the stars align properly, we will see it someday. Until then, I can dream atleast.
