Becky Lynch recently became the longest reigining RAW Womens Champion, having won it back at WrestleMania in the main event where she faced Ronda Rousey & Charlotte Flair. Since then she has defended against the likes of Lacey Evans, Sasha Banks & Natalya. Lately she has been tied up in a feud with WWE Womens Tag Team Champions, The Kabuki Warriors, which has left her frustrated. On November 26th she would tweet “I’ve just become the longest reigning Raw women’s champion, so I’m thrilled to be in the tag division rn.” Her reign is currently at 240 days, and will likely continue to rise, especially if WWE doesn’t give her challengers.
Survivor Series & Crown Jewel
The last two WWE PPV’s were situations where Becky was unable to get a title defense on the card. At Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, they had the first ever womens match in the countries history, but it was contested between Natalya & Lacey Evans. Meanwhile, in the build to Survivor Series, she tried to defend the RAW brand as she faced off with NXT’s Shayna Baszler & Smackdown’s Bayley. Shayna would go on to submit Bayley to win the Triple Threat at Survivor Series, but The Man would get the last laugh and close the show standing tall.
Becky Lynch vs. Kairi Sane or Asuka?
While Kairi Sane & Asuka are the current WWE Womens Tag Team Champions, both are accomplished singles champions in WWE, with Kairi being a former NXT Womens Champion, and Asuka being a former NXT & Smackdown Womens Champion, the latter of which she won from Becky Lynch at the Royal Rumble earlier this year.
Either woman would make a fantastic oppponent for Lynch at the upcoming TLC PPV, or even just in a RAW main event. They did Becky vs. Kairi are the dark match for RAW this past week, so maybe they’re testing out that match to see how fans react. Becky did defend her belt in that match, but she has not had a televised title defense since Hell in a Cell in October.
It has also been two weeks since Becky Lynch has appeared on Monday Night RAW. You would think being one of the longest reigning and most popular champions in the company, she could at least get some TV time. Becky Lynch and the RAW Womens Championship both deserve better treatment, or atleast not to be treated as a complete afterthought.
