It’s Monday night, which means another edition of Monday Night Raw. I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer, here tonight for another round of previews. They were kind enough to announce three things in advance for tonight, so I’ll be taking a look at them all as usual. Without any further adieu, let’s see what’s on tap as we head into WWE Raw!
First we have, of course, the one sole match that’s been announced in advance!
Buddy Murphy vs. Aleister Black
Most Raw crowds of late have clearly been made up largely of people who have not watched Raw in months or even years, so reactions are very quiet for most of the roster which is largely based around newer names. Black and Murphy are no exception, but they are too guys who tend to impress any crowd they’re in front of and earn their respect by the time they’re done.
The two of them had a pretty well built midcard feud, with both of them being unbeaten since their Raw debuts, leading up to a great battle at WWE TLC. Hard hitting and athletic just as one would hope, in the end Black managed to defeat Murphy, maintaining his own winning streak whilst breaking Buddy’s. But the feud has clearly not finished as it seems Murphy wants another shot.
The rematch has been set for tonight and it should be on par with the first. In fact on TV it may well benefit from getting additional time, depending on what else they have planned. With this being announced in advance as though it were marquee, it’s a good chance to make the two of them look like a big deal. Either way, I’m pretty excited for it. As for who wins… general law in WWE is that undefeated streaks are bad in the long term. This is largely just because they’ve never really known how to make it work, which is why Asuka’s legendary streak only survived about five or six months on the main roster.
I’m guessing the story here will see Murphy break Black’s undefeated streak, perhaps in an underhanded way, as revenge for his own streak ending at TLC.
